I think it's about time I change my plugs since I got 54K now. I no I can get more but I just reversed my timming for a week when I misunderstood the direction and set it to 10 instead of 19. I originally had my mechanic set it at 17*. I went counterclockwise facing the cap so I retarded it, (I feel that way myself) ,when I tried to set it to 19*. . so any way I fixed it after a week of driving and I think I should change my plugs with that and the miles. any recommendations?

well I dont think having retarded your timing would cause you to need new plugs. I believe copper plugs are supposed to be replaced every 30k and platinums go for 60k. Just get oem NGK's.

- Platinums PFR6G-11 (old part #PFR6B-11)
- Coppers BKR6E (NOT BKR6E-11. Those are for the GA16DE)

I think I may have fouled them. I was gonna check tonight but my engine was hot. I have platnum from the factory and since it's about 60K now I want to change them. I now can say more than ever that timming avance is worth it.
What should they be gapped at for a 99'?

It's listed in your owners' manual.

I have always runned NGK'S BKR6E-11
and i don't know it seems to run fine. would it afect anything for running them? i mean in performance *** the car doesn't have any missfire or nothing.
would it be a difference to go from the -11 to the plain BKR6E?

Theres no IFs ANDs or BUTTs about it.
Go with the NGK Coppers BKR6E.
Change them out every 3 or 4 months for optimum performance. :D
Those Platinums are a big waste of money.
yeah , i said it.;) :D

The BKR6E-11's are pre-gapped @ 0.043
The BKR6E's are pre-gapped @ 0.031-0.035
The BKR6E-11's (copper) are set up to run in the GA16DE's similiar to how the PFR6G-11's (platinum) are set up to run in the SR20DE's. Nissan also suggests to use the BKR6E as an alternative to the PFR6G-11's in your owners manual, not BKR6E-11's.
I have heard some guys run theBKR6E-11's in the SR20DE with no ill effects. All I know is that I feel more comfortable knowing that I have the correct Nissan recommended plug in my car. I run the BKR6E's at 0.034.
Since the spark of the platinums is greater, the gap has to be larger than the spark generated from the copper plugs. that is why the SR20DE plats are gapped @ 0.043 and the coppers are in the 0.031-0.035 range.

the difference between the BKR6E and 6E-11s is negligable. without exception, you should ALWAYS check the gap when replacing plugs, as they will vary greatly, no matter what they say.
