The SR16VE cams will give you 5 to 10 whp and extend your power band to higher RPM so that when you shift to the next higher gear, you will be at higher RPM (more power) as well. There is some talk about losing power at lower RPM with these cams, but it either doesn't happen or is not very noticeable. It's not necessary to change the valve springs, just drop in the cams. Your money would be better spent on cam gears and tuning. 2. No. Many swear by the JWT POP charger. gtirwezz 12-20-2009, 08:24 AM bill i think he is talking about the pistons not the cams dude? you could put SR16VE pistons in yes, your CR will be close to 13:1 though, get the valve reliefs cut 1mm deeper to bring it down a touch and you will need the skirt machining a bit more for the oil squirters. you should see some higher numbers with the raised CR but it will need a good tune also mwnismo 12-22-2009, 11:18 PM ok note well takin question so f i put in both sr16 ve cams an pistons wa horsepower i will be lookin at? The N1 pistons I believe bring it to the mid 13's? Not sure on that one. I am running a basic modded VE and have beat up on the DC5's.
