Good night.

I heard of this forum, and I see there is lots of information and
always It is good to learn more

Well, my name is Fernando, I'm 23 and as the title says I'm from
Spain. I'm about to introduce the Master Thesis of
Mechanical Engineering. Project dealing with the analysis and simulation of the steering & suspension system of my 100NX using Simulink.

100% of my hobbies are cars around: Detail (you can see my work in [http://fcsmobiledetailer.blogspot.com), car audio,
mechanics, collectibles, tuning, etc. .... expensive hobbies for a student.

A year ago (26 November) I bought my Nissan 100NX with 222,000 km,
Today has 238.000km and this year unless I had to repair the rod bearings but now the car is perfect, I love this car.

I hope to learn here, and if
possible.

Nothing, I show us some of my 100NX pics that my brother made few days ago:

very nice NX..... Simulink is a very powerful tool for control systems modeling. Although I have never used it for a mechanical model.

Simulink has a tool called "SimMechanics". I have used it to apply the Multibody Theory for the analysis of mechanical system.

Nice I will have to check that out. I have a copy of MATLAB and Simulink on my laptop, so maybe I will play with it when I get more spare time. I have used Simulink for control systems modeling on aircraft, so it was mostly electrical and electro-mechanical, but i bet it would be really fun to use it for a purely mechanical model like say a steering or suspension system.
Good luck with the project/thesis, maybe we could exchange files so i could see how it works.

He is in Spain, the European NX was called the 100NX and was produced until 1998 IIRC

SimMechanics is a little bit complicated because first, you have to know physical properties of the system (center of gravity, inertial matrix, joints, reference frames...)

I have modeled in SolidEdge diferent parts of the system (approximated) to know its physical properties.

On the other hand, you have the reason, in Europe, the NX2000 is called 100NX (there are 3 engines: 1.6 carburator, 1.6 inyection and 2.0 SR20DE). Most of them are T-Top.

Very nice ride! Welcome!!!

Your ride is my point of reference...I´m thinking about swap my SR20DE for a DET, but with FWD only. I´m not sure....

there are other options like SR20VE or rebuilt my SR20DE and boost it.

For the summer I have to decide, my engine has 238 600 km I changed the rod bearings 12.000 km ago and I do not have much confidence in this engine...
