fwdsr20det 01-02-2010, 10:31 AM 1. Hi guys about to buy the following buy importing from the states.....via come ebay japengine company 1100 100% feedback  .
Anyway what I am planning on doing is buying the following all from different sources
sr20ve engine
sr20ve head gasket
fwd 5 speed lsd gear shift/ manuel transmission and driveshafts
now the shipping costs could add up to be loads  just to get it to London (UK).
2. Would I be better off ordering these from Japan ebay direct if I can find.
OR
3. Would I be better off importing a whole car from USA/JAPAN/ OZ/ NZ?
As in importing a Primera sr20ve with everything I need and transferring everything to my Nissan Sunny N14?
I really think I would do option 3.
Advise please...

fwdsr20det 03-28-2010, 05:33 AM opps forgot about this thread.
Okay the car had a big set back as it needed loads, I mean loads of welding and restoration underneath.
The whole underside was rotten when the skirts were removed, all falling apart basically, so more or less the whole side underneath was rebuilt.
Got loads of pictures to show stages. Amazing job done.
The car is fully restored underneath and undersealed.
Looks mint now, clean as a whistle.
If I am going to keep the car I may as well do the full hog.
So instead of changing the shell, I got it repaired which took out 3 months budget, so the project finish time will now be delayed by 3-5 months.
Anyway I have got the car back.
A few progress shots.
Project commence.
I also have 2 donor cars which I will be breaking in the next month or so.
1. 1.8 pulsar gti
2. 2.0 sunny gti
Some of these pictures may be duplicated.

fwdsr20det 03-28-2010, 03:32 PM Impossible to get hold of, Nissan would charge an arm and a leg.
I had to buy a whole car just to get them, then break or sell the car again.
if you find out anyone selling them and willing to ship to the u.s let me know- thanks
fwdsr20det 03-29-2010, 03:33 AM How much are you thinking of paying if I sell you mine?

ZED_not_zee 03-29-2010, 09:15 AM those fog lites block the break cooling ducts! never seen them before you say there oem Nissan?
fwdsr20det 03-29-2010, 02:17 PM send me a pm on the asking price
Will do so soon.
fwdsr20det 03-29-2010, 02:25 PM those fog lites block the break cooling ducts! never seen them before you say there oem Nissan?
Yes oem from factory.
The Nissan Sunny N14 2.0 SR20DE Gti came with 143bhp, it's not as if it needed the cooling ducts.
Don't get it confussed with the Nissan Sunny/ Pulsar 2.0 SR20DET Gti-r with 227bhp that had the bumper with cooling ducts.

SuperblackZ 04-10-2010, 01:28 PM Sorry to see that much rust on your ride. One product I've found that helps is sold here as spray or liquid called "Fluid Film". It's a corrosion preventing coating that is just spray on and works really well - a few cans would do most of the underside of the car, costs under $10-12 USD. I picked up the tip from guys who plow driveways in the Winter, they use it heavily on their equipment.
I live in New England (CT) where we see tons of salt dumped on our roads, it just eats cars over time. My B13s never see Winter use, but my Dodge truck does and was getting a lot of spot rust underneath after 5 years with a lot of Winter use.
IDK if you can get it shipped, but fantastic stuff and easy to use; if you can hold a spray can and point it, that's about it. It's one of the few products I've used that really lives up to it's rep. I use it inside the fenders between the frame and fenders, I use the truck heavily in Winter and the stuff does not wash off, and seems to have just stopped even existing spot rust from expanding. Took me about 5 cans to do my truck, but it's a monster sized quad-cab Dodge RAM 1500 Hemi, 2 or 3 cans would do a car our size.
I see a guy with a case of 12 cans for $89 USD on eBay today, that's at least a few bucks a can even shipped cheaper than I buy it locally.

"Fluid FilmŪ is a lanolin based rust/corrosion preventive and lubricant that provides long term protection and lubrication for all metal surfaces. Fluid FilmŪ locks out and displaces moisture while lubricating moving parts for extended periods of time. It will not be readily washed off with water, but creates a barrier of protection that continues to work even in the most corrosive of environments. Fluid FilmŪ is the worldwide standard for corrosion protection and lubrication. Great for restorations. Spray it inside door bottoms to prevent rusting from the inside out. About 5 cans is enough to undercoat a car. Spray it on battery terminals to prevent corrosion."
