if i change my timing up to 17 what else do i have to do as meaning what kind of gas to i have to run to be a everyday drive and at the track. thank you

well, in theory, the 17 deg. is still within the +/- 2 deg. from 15 deg. and the motor was tuned to run on 87 octane. So you could stick to it. To be on the safer side, you'd run something a little higher.

Abe, I always use 93 with my 17 degree timing. You better learn to use the search button before these guys just all over you!

uhh.. base ignition is 13-15btdc. 17btdc is considered advanced. higher octane is reccomended. I use 93 almost always.

On occasion I have run a few tanks of 89, or 91 octane with advanced timing (17&19). No pinging.

Your results may vary, tune carefully.
