hope someone can help me out.. i started stripping the engine and getting it ready to install and noticed that the turbo was loose where it connects to the manifold. so i was going to remove it anyway to put new gaskets in, when i removed the intake tube, oil poured out of the compressor side. i called the importer and he said it happens sometimes while shipping and the engine gets tilted tot he side. there is no shaft play and the wheel spins freely. why else would oil be there? if the seals of the turbo were blown it should come out the exhaust side right? should i be worried?

there is no oil in the exhaust manifold ports or the downpipe. if oil was sent down the vacuum tubr from the valvecover would it go all the way through to the other side? idk what to do

i think your fine, shipping takes it toll on engines, I would just clean it up real good, there is gonna be oil all over the place

yeah if the engine sat on its sie at all it would cause oil build up. There was some in my rb turbo, but I cleaned it up and it ran fine.

so i cleaned up the turbo and put new gaskets on it. then i decided to go ahead and install it.. still waiting on tranny mount, cross member, downpipe, driveshaft, exhaust and rad hoses. but its wired up and ready to go pretty much.. who knew. all in 1 day.
