My headliner cloth came loose from the roof and is now hanging

Common problem.

2 fixes.

1. take it out yourself and reglue it with some spray on glue.

2. take it to a headliner shop and pay to have it recovered..

had mine recovered for $120 but judging from other headliner posts most people get it done for under $100.

Cool I was thinking About gluing it with the spray glue stereo shops use to carpet boxes (I stapled it before in an old beater i had) But wasnt sure if it would soak through and leave a mess. I figured everyone here has been a tremendous help with all my other problems to not jump to conclusions. And my SR brothers and sisters alike come through again thanks!!!

i saw a "home-made" reglue this week. Not pretty.
In recent thread I read some guys getting it done professionaly for like $60

I got mine done for about $60. New cloth, glue, installation. Professionally done. Where are you at Froyd?

That'll work... for a while. But it'll fall in short order again. The problem is the foam between the headliner cloth and the backing cardboard has disintegrated. If you glue the cloth to the cardboard, it won't last for very long before it'll fall again. You need to replace the foam liner.

I had mine professionally replaced for $90.

I got one from Nissan and slapped it in myself. Replaced the sunroof cover while I was at it.

I tore mine down after watching it flap for two weeks....ended up peeling off the whole thing and the glue crap...right down to the cardboard...I then held my breath and sprayed it all with gunmetal paint.

That's where I got mine done. Ask them. If they don't do it, they may know who does.

Once you get it all torn down, even the gluey crap that is under the headliner...its just a hard piece of cardboard. I painted mine to match my grey interior and the paint actually made the cardboard smooth and preserved. I think it looks fine. I mean, I forgot it was done and my girl didnt even notice (girl point of view). I hate headliners anyhow. I think it looks better as gunmetal color. If I had a diggy cam I would take a photo.

Got mine done for free on both se-r(s). Dad did them and did a great job too. But those damn sun visors are a pain when the skinny part brakes apart.

I'm glad I read this. I was about to break out the spray glue. Guess I'll do something else to my car today.

I'm unemployed right now, and I've decided to do something to the car instead of playing video games.

EGR removal here I come...

I'm doing free things, don't have money to spend....unless it's under 10 bucks... like the cost of the resistor.

the previous owner of my car had a headliner problem and just ripped it out. Bare black metal, I think it looks fine. Gets a little noisy when it rains, but otherwise its not a big deal to me.
