I know that most of you don't recognize my handle, or even know who I am or what I'm about. That's cool, I tend to surf and read more than I reply and I'm not much of a post whore.

But, after reading sooo much information, especially the thread about Dre's all motor power, I had some weird kind of epiphany... things that I felt I had to get off my chest.

First issue was about some sort of East/West Coast conflict/jealously/headbutting thing. What gives? For Krist's sake, I'm on the internet, I couldn't give a rat's patootie where the information came from. There are guys/gals in Cali whose posts I always read, same goes with Wisconsin, Virginia, Tennessee, Louisiana, NC, KY, Florida and there's even a couple of dudes from Texass that are a must read. The information is on my screen, right in front of me no matter where I am. Get the picture?

Next, the whole Mike K. and Andres thing.... as if it were some sort of race or competion. I just don't see any conflict there at all. They're both after the same thing... improving their knowledge and sharing it with the SE-R community.

Let me share a set of short stories with you. Mike K. won't remember this, but several months ago, I emailed him about a product(Motul Gear 300) and asked for his imput. Within 12 hours he replied and reassured me of some things. He didn't have to do this, we all know how busy he is(I printed out the reply and framed it,lol). I emailed Andre about a combo motor mount set I was interested in using(got the idea from George in TX). Not only did he return my email but gave me his cell phone number and home number if I had any more questions(again, printed and framed). And, guess what? There's a young man here in Tampa who is starting to get some serious recognition, Jay Whitely. He's taken a look at my car, we discussed what needed to be done, then he pointed out a few things that I could do myself, how to do a few others and then asked me questions(about why I wanted to do this or that). All for free... he didn't have to do that.

Nearing the end.

Anybody can tell you about the cost for this or that, or how much this will cost to install. Hell, we can even find this out for ourselves.

But, KNOWLEDGE IS PRICELESS, and the sharing of that knowledge even more so.

I respect everyone on the various boards who is willing and able to share knowledge and allow us to learn more.

The people I've mentioned above, and many others deserve our respect, no matter where we're from, what we drive, and how modified our cars are.

Thanks for all your time, guys and gals... later,

Mark

P.S. I was just kidding about framing the emails... did save them though.

I respect your life style and preferences, Happysnatch. But, I don't swing that way.

Eff it, another reason I don't post much... people missing the point. If that's all you got from the post, I've wasted your time and mine.

Much later,
Mark

Jeez lighten up. Im not missing the point. People need to keep their cool when it comes to posting on forums. We are all car enthusiasts, sharing info and keeping a good atmosphere is important. A few jokes doesn't really hurt

My bad, just reverting to my introvert side. I don't post much here or anywhere basically because I haven't acquired enough knowledge to add to the stew... yet.

Would have been nice to have gotten a reply that wasn't a joke, though.

What the hell, I just wanted to get that stuff said anyway so I'm cool... well, at least my 3 yr old thinks I am.

Later,
Mark

Vladha, I don't believe that I have ever spoken with you before, but that was damn good. You made several good points. Earlier I was reading the thread about Andreas and Mike and thinking what the hell. I mean they seam to get along perfectly well with each other, then other people have to compare them all the time. Not realizing how screwed we would all be if it wasn't for people like them being willing to share what they have learned with us.

Lets see. Mike K has replied to all my e-mails in regard to: motul, gc spring rates, brakes, and a couple others I things. Andreas, well I purchased my VE from him, nuff said. Funny story. Mike actually e-mailed me and asked me where I got my VE from because he was looking also. I told him to talk to Andreas. How weird. These are both great guys who know what is important and what isn't. Both have gone out of their way to help me. I also talked to Dave Coleman via e-mail. He to responded in less then 24 hours. Very impressive. I e-mailed his employer and told him how impressed I was with any magazine that employees someone like him who really helps people interested in cars. The Nissan community is great. Lets keep it that way.

Edit: And lets not forget Bigtom. I can't begin to tell you how much he has helped me for no charge.

If you want help in the nissan community all you need to do is research and then ask if you don't understand. The answers will come. Always have for me. Of course I do research a lot.

Hey vladha,

I hear and understand your thread. I have worked alot with Jay here and Tampa and I like how he does business. I we are blessed to have Jay here in Tampa and Andre across the state. It can be difficult to find info on the forum and it is nice to know there are resources out there that can take the time to answer your questions or relieve your worries.

I guess on of my problems is finding someone (who lives close) who has done mods on their car which I want to do to my car. One of my first major mod to my car was suspension. I had nothing to compair too and too Jay's advice and ordered the parts list he gave me. So far Jay has not missed with any of his suggestions. That is why I am liberial to let other people drive my car to get a feel for what I have done to my car as I know how hard it is to get rides in other people's ride who have done other mods.

When I got my MDM 100 and decided to adjust my timing, I heard some weird noise coming from my distributor (which I thought). I called Jay up all worried that something else broke on my classic. Jay was able to take a look at my car that day (within 45 minutes). Not only did Jay tell what that sound came from, but helped me adjust my timing. My cost: FREE. It is hard to find people who is willing to give up their time to answer questions and help out and not ask for a dime. For those people, they get my business and friendship (whatever that is worth). ;)

Just my 2 cents.

Hello Vladha, (and the rest in the forum)

I think it was nice of you to give credit to all the people helping out in the forum :)

I to have recieved a lot of help from both Andreas, Mike, George (Roffe TX) and ESPECIALLY Sandy (T4 Primera) from NZ - But the god thing is that no matter what your problem is, it is always possible to find somebody who is more than willing to share his/her knowledge and time to help you.

I have the deepest respect for all these helpfull guys on the forums and

My knowledge is barly nothing compared to some of the guys in this forum, but I have a lot of mechanical and technical knowledge and here in Denmark I'm helping people with advice, buying, installing and adjustment of tuning parts! So I'm if anybody REALLY depending A LOT on you guys! :)

And now I'm at it!! Then let us not forget the moderators and Webmaster! :D

I'm getting AAAAALL sentimental here!!*LOOOL*

Best Regards

I too have had the privilege of having Jay Whitley work on my car. He went as far as to ask me what kind of tranny fluid I was running (which I still haven't followed up) just in case it was the wrong type fluid, which could wear out myh gears. He changed my started on the Fourth of July which was REALLY cool of him. He even came to my house and did a tune up and coolant change! His prices CANNOT be beat, and I would take my car to him BEFORE I would go to a stealership (unless it was covered by warranty, of course).

And then there's Andreas... I posted a question directed at him just the other day. I thought I would get a PM, but he surprised my by calling me at home, and talking with him for about 30 minutes. He is very modest when it comes to recognition. Much respect Andreas!

All in all, I feel privileged to know Jay Whitley and Andreas Miko as a big part in MY SR20 community.

PS: It's Mike Kojima's fault that I own a 200SX SE-R. If he wouldn't have built one of the first Kick-Ass 200's and wrote about it for SCC, I might be driving a honduh or car with no aftermarket potential (Ford Probe/Mazda MX-6)... Damn you Mike! :D
