I just bought my car like a week ago. It kind of idles low...500-750...stalled out twice. So im guessing my engine isn't sparking well. What plugs and wires should i get? What else should i change besides the plugs, wires, distributor, & cap?

oh yeah, my engine has 197k on it. Should i just wait for it to die out and just buy a jdm sr20de engine?

My Idle gets low when the TB is dirty. The sticky black gunk messes with the idle speed.
I hope that the fix is that easy for you. I just wanted to make sure you didn't over look it.

When the time comes for your engine to be replaced yeah go with a JDM. But as long as it runs good keep driving.
As far as your problem have you tried all the problem -fixes that is on SE-R.net (http://www.se-r.net)
Maybe MAF needs to be regrounded.

you might want to set your base idle first. the procedure can be found here:
http://www.se-r.net/engine/adjust_idle.html
if that doesn't help, then try cleaning out your throttle body. but setting the idle speed and timing advance (also can be found on www.se-r.net) will do some wonders for you.
as far as plugs and wires, ngk copper BKR6E plugs and oem wires are what most people use. copper plugs are relatively inexpensive and the wires run about $40 at the dealer, or you can order them from www.courtesyparts.com
hope this helps!
