so lets say its detonation... i have a calum computer programmed for 370cc injectors and n60 maf. at 3bar. i run 8psi on a t25. should it be detonating that bad? how can i prevent it?

Is that calum program specifically for a VE though? because a VE engine will flow more air for the same amount of boost, which puts fuel and ignition timing maps out

yea its for a ve.

It depends on what the timing map looks like and the fuel map looks like.

I had this happen years ago I had my timing set at 20 degrees on a jwt ecu....it ATE spark plugs but ran like a bat out of hell....Check your timing and regardless of what it is reduce it

yeah it's a detonation hits the plugs. check ur afr and timing.

First of all, it's impossible for the stock 20VE piston to come in contact with the sparkplugs. Something is loose or a foreign object is inside your engine.

I find it odd that you are driving around with only one throttle plate screw attached. That one screw will get stress more from a wot application and will eventually come loose, not to mention you are probrably getting a real high idle, since that one hole is bypassing the throtte plate.

It is not "impossible" for the stock 20VE to come in contact with spark plugs.
Mis shifts or over revs can cause this and much more damage.

Just tore apart a customers motor which had contact on all 4 plugs. Mis-shift from 3rd back to 2nd.

Yes, but what you are describing is a catastrophic event. It did not happen to 2.2lvvlb13. If you read the whole thread, the 2.2lvvl thought his sparkplugs were the only thing damaged. He thought it was due to piston contact. I tried to explain it not because of piston contact.

Of course when you mis-shift, the sparkplugs would not be the only thing damaged. The whole combustion chamber would be fubar, lol. The sparkplug would be the last thing the piston would hit. It sit at the highest point in the combustion chamber.

The BKR6E sparkplug ground strap to cylinder head deck is .270”

Piston to cylinder head clearance .040”.

As you can see, the piston would have to lift the head and chew up the valves before it gets to sparkplug.

Thats some good proof for your argument. Nice pics!!
