I am looking to set my car up for ITA class scca racing a currently autocross and do a few track days a year but I want to get more serious in the next year or so. I was wondering what options are out there for the b13 I have only found carbotech making a track pad for the stock b13 caliper and was wondering if there were any other options out there or if that is the route to take.

carbotechs are great. what tires are you using? endurance or sprints? depending on tires and car weight, probably a xp10/xp8 will work really well.

that was going to be my next question was which one of those compounds to go with right now i am running a 225/15 hoosier all around

you might want to go to a xp12 on hoosiers. if your car is well under 2500lbs xp10 should be ok.

edit: and carbotech's faq agrees

If you don't already have them, go with NX2000 calipers and rotors.

eric I have them, but they are not legal in ITA racing as far as i know which is why I started this thread I know of a few options for the nx caliper just nothing other than carbotech for the ser caliper

Ah ok. The carbotech pads will be perfect for what you are wanting to do.

if you come run PTE or PTF with NASA -mid-atlantic, the nx2000 calipers are legal, and you will eat a lot less pad and rotors then you will w/ the stock caliperseric I have them, but they are not legal in ITA racing as far as i know which is why I started this thread I know of a few options for the nx caliper just nothing other than carbotech for the ser caliper

You might want to check with Cobalt Friction on their XR2 pad compound. High torque, quick warmup and very rotor friendly.

Add one more to the XP10 list. I'm using them with 225's Hoosiers. They're a bit much if you run a street tire with them though.

I have been racing in ITA for 3 years now. I am using Hawk Blues front and Axxis Ultimate rears. They work great together. As mentioned, you are not allowed to run NX brakes in ITA. I had to adjust my braking points to compensate. It was annoying at first, but I got used to it.

You do wear out the Hawk pads more with the stock brakes/rotors than with the NX upgrade. Do not go with anything softer than Axxis Ultimates in the rear or the wear on the front will become even worse. I learned that the hard way. You can try Hawk blue all around, but I think that might give you too much rear brake bias and you might not be able to build up enough heat in the rear brakes to make the Hawks work effectively.

i just noticed you have a b14 I have not found a set of hawks that work on the b13's caliper yet but anyway I think i am going to go with carbotech xp8's because it does still drive to most of my events for now and i think they will be a little more forgiving at some of the autocrosses i go to

Have run XP10's on the AD18. My current set is XP12. I believe Crazy Joe is using 12's as well. I am happy with them so far (4 sessions). Good things being said about the Raybestos ST-43 compund, may try them next.
As for rears, the cheapest thing they have on the shelf at the Autohut. Changed every 5 years or so...

Sorry- I haven't been on the board for a few weeks. You're right, Cobalt Friction hasn't had sufficent interest to stock XR2 compound pads for the AD18. If you're seriously interested, e-mail me at: nissan7gt3@comcast.net and let's see if we can't put together an order.

I'm partial to Hawk DTC-60 compound myself (Plus there is Hawk bux to win with NASA)

I went with carbotech due to the fact that i couldn't easily find another pad for the stock b13 caliper we'll see how they do at VIR in march.
