i've searched and only got more confused... what is the real rev limiter on the 91-94s?

i dont need indicated stock tachs... they vary too much

Redline is 7500 and fuel cutoff is 7700 I believe.

Your tach will say differently because the tachs on the SE-R's aren't very accurate. The REAL numbers are right up there. :)

according to JWT actual redline(fuel shutoff) is at 7450 rpm and when they program your ecu they raise it to 7750..

Yeh, with my techtom MDM-100 I watched the RPMs and looked to see when I hit the rev limiter and it was at right after 7400,I thought I was having problems with my distributor or something('cause it has the crank angle sensor in it), but now I think its at 7450. good deal!

Why would Nissan make a 7500rpm tach and set the revlimiter for 7450rpm? That just makes no sense. I mean, doesn't that defeat the purpose of all the red they put into the tach?

Go ask Nissan, the Techtom is 100% correct and so is kenley_ser. I saw mine hit 7450 right before it hit the rev limiter. Whats the point of haveing a 9000rpm tach when theres no way in hell our engines would ever go to 9000rpm? Answer that one Ryan...

I'm not doubting you, Ryan, so don't get too offended by the question. I just don't understand why you'd make a tach that starts redline at 7500, and goes all the way to 9000, but you throw in the revlimiter at 7450. That defeats the purpose of all of that redline.

I dunno why they did that, some little Japanese guys executive decision I bet. The tachs notoriously have error in our cars. They probably just didnt want to put the red at 50rpm before 7500. I dunno what the reasoning behind it is...

maybe they did it for a little bit of looks, they probably knew that there tach was off so they put the redline before, because before I raised my rev limiter it would actually stop revving at 7750 and now with my rev limiter I hit I little over 8000 pretty cool when you know you are really revving at 7750
