ok so i was going into the freeway with my b13 turbo and when i was about to shift from 4th to 5th at 4k rpm my car turned off and backfired.... i opened the distributor cap and noticed the rotor fell off... i put it back together and car started but felt crappy... as if it was running on 2 cylinders. i drove to the nearest exit and the car wouldn't turn on anymore.... i checked the coil it had a spark so i checked the spark plugs and the tips were melted and broken so was the distributor cap... i bought a new cap and put new spark plugs and still no spark.... i then changed the distributor ,after changing the distributor it had a spark at the spark plugs.... but the car still wouldnt start.. fuel pump works, at crank the car would back fire one time and wouldnt start... what can the problem be???

does it sound like it wants to crank over?

did you change the rotor? I read you changed everything but that...its possible it could still get spark just not enough to start the engine... how did you check to see if the fuel pump was working?

i took off the fuel rail and the fuel pump pumped fuel... the injectors work and theres a spark... i didnt change the rotor.... it cranks and has a small pop every now and then... wont start

Seem's to me that maybe an intercooler pipe came off or something. Try checking your couplers and clamps and make sure they are on tight. start from the IC and work your way through all of the pipes. Do you have a fmic or tmic setup?

everything is tight ... i forgot to mention i over filled the oil a little bit and it sprayed it out through the breather on the valve cover...

hmm... So my guess is you probably have internal failure. I think you put a hole through a piston if it sounds like a subaru. You might want to get a compression test on the motor. Get that done first, and post up the psi numbers.

doubt it has a bad piston.. it should start but it wont fire... i think its flooded with gas... any tips on how to clean the motor from flooded gas?

It was just a thought. Remove fuel cap, remove fuel hose to the fuel rail. And let the fuel come out. That's what I would do. Not to sure if there's anything else you could do besides that and removing the fuel rail

Make sure crank angle sensor is connected and all wires are connected to distributor cap ie, spark plug wires and coil to cap wire.
