: De Throttle body and tps on a Ve
Mr. Sleeper 01-16-2010, 09:52 PM I did some searching and really havn't found any help or direct answer to my question. I have a Ve and the tps is no good anymore (High idle like 25-3k) and I have a de tb w the tps laying around and wanna use it on the Ve. Are the tb interchangeable and will the de one choke the Ve?
Wow, thankk God the issue is fixed but man I feel dumb right now and only am posting this 2 help some1 else that might have made this mistake........ While I was out troubleshooting the car, I decided 2 swap ecu's from the Calum to the regular ecu bcuz it's cheaper to replace a stock 1 in the case something goes wrong. So when I went to disconnect the ecu from the harness, it wasn't tight at all. I was able to unbolt it by hand using a 10mm deep socket so I decided to tighten it up and retest and walah......... Problem solved. I guess everyone at one time or another makes noob mistakes lol.....
billc 01-17-2010, 12:23 PM I am using a DE TB on my VE. No issues.
Mr. Sleeper 01-17-2010, 12:49 PM Ok, thanks:)
jonwepa 01-17-2010, 10:04 PM Did you try adjusting the cold air ide valve on the VE throttlebody??? It is was cused my idles issues.
Mr. Sleeper 01-18-2010, 01:23 PM No, I actually barely found out about this problem last night hahaha after a long time searching. I'm gonna try that 2day and let u guys know the results.
Mr. Sleeper 01-18-2010, 02:55 PM Ok guys, problem solved. I wound up changing the aac valve, the fat round one outta the 2 and *** it's all good. Just now every now and then, it'll hesitate quickly and go back 2 normal.
Mr. Sleeper 01-18-2010, 02:57 PM I think I'm gonna check my tps next. Thanks guys 4 the support. I just need 2 go get a tps and try that out.

I am betting its that cold idle valve. Its a small allen key , but will definitely make a difference in your idle. SOOOO many people have had this issue including myself:tongue:
I hope it is and you can enjoy your car
Mr. Sleeper 01-18-2010, 06:51 PM I just connected my car to Consult and it shows the o2 sensor voltage is pulsating constantly from .08 to .75 and my tps voltage reads 0 no matter what I do to the throttle. My Iac/Aac stays at 95% and the a/f mixture keeps reading lean. Any Ideas? I also looked up trouble codes and my knock sensor popped up, ignition signal circuit and tps all popped up:(
OptimumSE-R 01-18-2010, 07:00 PM knock sensor will definately choke your motor. We ran the codes on Shingouki1's car cause his was hesitating aswell and it led to the knock sensor.

If your not getting anything from your TPS sensor then you should keep rewireing it until you do! This is yet another one of those bugs that took me for ever to get my VE to idle nice, still because of the lightened flywheel when I let of the gas from a high rev the rpms will drop to about 550 and then settle back to 900-1000rpm. Very touchy motor...
Mr. Sleeper 01-18-2010, 07:43 PM Would a regular de knock sensor work? And the tps worked fine until recently. Is that a sure sign that it's bad? Or do bad tps's at least read something?

Yes a de knock sensor will work. I really still think you have a bad tps ground connection
Mr. Sleeper 01-18-2010, 07:55 PM How do I find that? I'd much rather find that than have 2 buy another tps. Also, maybe this might help..... sometimes when my ecu is moved a certain way, my car will seem like it's gonna shut off or sometimes it does and I have 2 play w the ecu to get it 2 start again.
jonwepa 01-19-2010, 12:32 AM Nice talking to you and good luck with the power of the VE!
