Hey,

how do you guys replace the starters on the car. I am going from the bov side in and removing the intake manifold brackets.

what do you guys do.

take all those brackets off, put them in a box- you should be able to get to the starter

- disconnect battery
- remove tmic if you have one
- remove bov and intake pipe (not required but gives more room)
- remove brackets for intake manifold and intercooler on back corner
- unbolt big Y-bracket at the back that braces the intake (this can be removed completely by disconnecting the engine mounts and tilting the engine around - many owners leave this off)
- remove bolts that hold the starter on
- disconnect wiring from starter (can be done from passenger or drivers side)
- pull starter out (through drivers side wheel arch requires disconnection of steering tie rod and oil filter, or passenger side which requires disconnection of more wiring)
