was just wondering if there was anyone that has ever done a VE motor with a 6 spd tranny from a 02-06 B15? And if so is there a write up on how to do the swap an parts list?

Can YOU think of any reasons why you would want an incredibly beefy six speed transmission, instead of a POS fragile 5-speed B13/14 tranny?

Further, are there any common sense reasons to want 6-gears, over the beefy 5-speed B15/P11 tranny?

i have a friend that actually works at mazworx and he was one of the people to install the conversion. the car that it went on was another friends as a prototype and its a pretty nasty setup. 5200 rpms in 5th gear at 130mph with another gear to go and the car revs to 9k all day long

I'll be sticking with a stock B13 tranny when I build my SR20VE.

top end wise the spec v trannys better but lower end wise, the b13 trannys better because of longer gears. spec v tranny tops out at about 55mph in 2nd gear. thats prbably the only con about it.
