looking for the gurus.

well i have a ve on 8psi. this is what started happening lately. both fans would come on as soon as i start the car. this never used to happen. also the car would over heat if left to idle for a long time, this also never use to happen. i changed the coolant temp sensor and its still doing this. what u guys think this could be my problem? im thinking about the termostat? maybe not functioning correctly? what about the rad cap? also u think there might be air in the system. i let the car idle with the radiator open but it does not bubble up but when i rev the car it over flows. could the head have lifted?

does the fans still come on at start up even *** you replaced the temp sensor? which one did you replace ? might check on the wiring for the temp sensor..

C

exactly, and the CTS can cause this..

heres a question.. do the fuel injectors sound like they're ticking a little loud and all at the same pulse? can you rev the car to more then 3000 rpms? if you can rev past 3 grand an your injectors arent all pulsing at the same time i doubt its the CTS but ya never know..

did you put plumbers tape on the sensor when you threaded it in? if so you shouldnt of, you dont need it, it messes with the readings.

maybe you should try to pull some codes ?

i can rev way past 3k. also i didnt use any plumbers tape. just the coper washer supplied. also *** would cause it to go into limp mode suddenly. i just got the ecu reprogrammed 1 week prior to this. i know it can go into limp mode by not reading the maf sensor. but it revs fine. injectors sounds normal.

hmm might check some wiring, or another ecu..

I have a u13 ecu lying around. You think i should plug it up and see if the fans come on when i turn the key?

Reset the ECU. ur old temp sensor was probably bad, which caused a code and safe mode. Safe mode is super rich and fans on all the time. The code needs to be cleared.

when it overheats, is it the gauge u looking at or bubbling coolant?? Replace thermostat and bleed system

i was having the same problem.i just fixed it by poring 1bottle of water wetter n some antifreeze.no water though just antifreeze, and make sure you blead the system by loosing the nut by the block inlet.the one with the arrow pointing at the nut.just rev a lil than when u see water coming out just put the screw in quickly.but you should check to see if your thermostat is working propperly n also your rad cap.let us know what up.

i look at the guage to know when it overheats. i will clear the code. and bleed the system to see if that helps.
