Im having some problems with my Vzr(sr16ve). The exhaust cams at 6800 are not engaging. I have checked the solenoids, they are fine, I was told my ecu had problems, so I got another ecu. Still no luck. If anybody knows anything would be great.

I would try applying 12v to the solenoid with the engine at idle at see if the cam switches. You can also do this with the engine off to listen for the solenoid to click.

I did that they both clicked when I applied power to them. Also cleaned them out. Would I need to disassemble the solenoid part of the engine and clean it out?

I would then connect a LED to the solenoid so you can see that they are getting power when the ECU is supposed to switch.

might consider installing an rpm activated switch..

Its not the solenoids, we have tested them. As for the switch, its my last resort really if I cant get it working from the ecu. Thanks for your help.
