I From malaysia. I plan to port & polish with 3 angle valve is it got good effect for the sr20ve head? If I doing this pnp with 3 angle valve will effect the vvl system? I hear the workshop said if normal port & polish really cannot release all ur engine power… if u doing it with port & polish with 3 angle valve is very good and the main point I scare after pnp will effect the low rpm, the power just came from mid and high rpm? Anyone can let me know…. Thanx for help….

Do a light port n polish to clean up the ports then do the valve job and get some new shims. It will prob be out of spec when u check them after the valve job.

A 3 angle valve job is more important than a port and polish. Most of the cfm gain is in the valve job. If you got $ get both.

Incorrect
The exhaust on the VE suffers horendously. You need to cut the ports from beind the valve to aid in flow - there are big gains to be had here.

You might lose 2-3hp between 1k-3K, but would have gains above that. So a valve job and port/polish is a win win mod.

You are arguing something I did not say.
I did not say the VE exhaust port was great.
I was stating the priority should go to the valve job and if the OP has the means, then getting a valve job and port and polish would be ideal. Who in their right mind would get a port and polish without getting a valve job. The cylinder head porter would probably turn down the work. They know how important the valve job is.
Here's a quote from Headgame/cylinder porter.
"If your not paying to get a good valve job, don't waste your time polishing or smoothing. It won't give you anything. If you had a good valve job then you could pick up more flow then the polishing would give you. And you would have to do anything else but bolt it on the car when your done. On a budget, I would lap the valve in, and run that thing. Your not ruining anything because you don't have anything extravagant to begin with." HeadGame
Also look at the flow chart in post #37. You will notice most of the gains came from the valve area through a valve job and bowl work. The porting gives minimal gain.

You have no idea
Theres no point reading quotes from the internet - go play with a real VE head and get some gains then come back to me.
the VE head NEEDS port work especialyl on the exhaust - no if or butts. Leave the valve angular work until last.
