If it was the cams, then everyone else with S3's (I've had mine in the car for over 10 years) would have this problem.

i also wonder if air/fuel mixtures are right...i have heard some people complain about the jim wolf ecu.....saying that there car is to lean....could this also be a issue that my car is facing???

Actually, JWT is known for having very safe tuning (not lean nor excessive ignition advance).

If the revs go up but the speed doesn't go up when the issue happens, it's the transmission.

If the revs go up and the speed goes up, it's an engine issue.

easy killa were just here to help lol try this.. give us a detailed description of whats going on.. not just the gist of it.. only cause we can help you figure out the problem unless we know what we're dealing with.. i mean so far you gave just a crap description of whats wrong man

Engine at what temp?
In what gear?
Does the RPM and MPH both change or is it only the engine?

the engine temp usually is between 160-185, since this car is an auto i assume the 3gear. That is the only time i have problems and only when it`s at 2rpm-2.2rpm, just the rpm, the mph doesn`t move...

You absolutely, definitely, without a doubt have a transmission / torque converter issue.

thanks for the advice, i guess it has come down to this...Taking my car to a trasmission shop...

id say your best bet is just swap it.. i mean more torque at the tranny is always a good thing! and itll prob be cheaper or the same then rebuilding or buyin another auto tranny

Smitty, if you can explain how when "rpms jump up but the mph does not" means he has an engine issue, maybe you can figure out cold fusion and balance the federal budget this weekend as well.
