i have started making a mold for a shift carbon version of an oem shift suround. there is a thread in the b14 200sx section about some of the carbon stuff i've been tinkering with for my car. there is a member who wanted b13 sentra parts so i have started making some, ex, the shift suround. they will be $80 shipped to contenential north america. i would start a tread in the group buy section but i figured i'd get the word out and if there was interest it may go that way.

I am the one sending him parts to be custom made. I am not sure he has received my shift surround yet. I sent him the surround last week on Tuesday. I am doing this as a test of his quality if he does well expect other to see other things popping up for sale in the near future.
Edit: Fast200SX I trust you got the shift surround safely?

sorry for the delay. here is the first one. it was much more difficult to make the mold then i first thpught. i ended up haveing to modify the mold a few times so that the texture of the stock peice is not in the resin or carbon outer layer.

I so have to withhold comment here, CF junkies ;) Better than sex? You've got to check your priorities
I've done CF layup before, with the help of my friend who works in Aerospace Composites, and that's not an easy mold to make. Getting the wrap to lay smooth around the edges takes practice. I hear it about the layers aligning so you don't get the wrong texture on the outer layer. It takes time, and that's really nice work, good job!:biggthump
What always amazes me when done is how incredibly strong the stuff is, given its weight. I'd love to do a CF hood but I'd want it like my Aluminum trunk and hood on the G, just light and looking just like OEM, just personal preference.
The CF look done nicely inside the car though is more attractive to me. :)
