: Car hesitates and bogs when accelerating hard
Nikefutbolero 02-04-2010, 11:37 PM Ok so my car was throwing a "system too lean bank 1" code that was causing the car the car to die during long period of being stopped (like at a red light), and when putting the car into neutral from a high rpm/high speed. A mechanic told me it was an o2 sensor so I bought a universal sensor and when I first put it on it was cool. I drove it around the block and everything was fine. When going to work later on that night it started to big and hesitate. I checked the sensor where I joined the wires with butt connectors and one of white heater wires came lose. I then decided to instead return it and buy a bosch direct fit oe one. I replaced it and it still bogs and hesitates but it's only really noticeable when accelerating hard. It never did that before, even with the system too lean code. Any ideas?

joy, i have the same problem, pm me if you figure it out, im tryin some new thing tomorrow, changin the fuel filter and pump....ill let you know if that helps
smitty05 02-19-2010, 01:55 AM k fuel filter worked a tad but didnt fix the whole problem, im pretty sure its the injecters feeding to much gas in and just bogs out, or the pump, im changing the injecters when this damn colorado snow goes away.....ill get to the bottom of this if no one wants to help!! :eek2:
SR20Ric 02-19-2010, 09:55 PM Check if the distributor is placed at its correct angel. Sometimes when the distributor is off it tends to bog and hesitate the motor as well. I guess that could be one idea.
smitty05 02-20-2010, 01:39 AM that was my first guess, changed the plugs wires rotor cap still nothin im still havin the feelin that its enjecters, either not clean or just dumping to much in...
LiTtLeGiAnT78 03-05-2010, 12:41 AM its the injectors dumping to much fuel... i have the same problem, if ur car bogs and hesitates, then u should smell raw fuel when u shut off the car. if so then it is ur injectors dumping to much fuel. i just havent had time to change mine yet and im upgrading them since im getting ready to boost
justclowning 03-05-2010, 01:45 AM i have the same problem with my ve it hesitates sometimes then when i drive for a long period of time it would sputter a 5000 rpm and some time shut off i did everything possible i even switch my jwt ecu put a stock one to see the outcome same-thing switch my msd coil noting o2sensor,fuelpump,check for injector leak, switch injectors, fuelpressure regulator, fuel pump, new wire harness, my last resort is the MAFF its brand new thats y i didnt check before but it might be defected i would let u guys know if this works
blusteelsr20 03-06-2010, 05:47 AM Clean and reground your MAF. Use a cleaner used for MAFs since the dual contacts that are exposed to air can be damaged by using brake cleaner or similar solvents. Also check for vacuum leaks.
