Hey I did add to an old post regarding this but I figured posting in here may be more appropriate.
I'm trying to source lifter shims for my gtir.. I've measured em up and the like now I need to find where to buy them, my Nissan dealer is quite confused. is the term "lifter Shim" correct?
Also it seems to me that there prety generic can i just order em from an autozone or oreilly?
Any input on sourcing these parts would be awesome!
thnx

One is called shim and the other is rocker arm guide. There are 81 different thicknesses.from 0.0951in to 0.1378in increment 0.0010. They are not cheap either!!! Cheap solution is, use the feeler gauge and cut from it the correct thickness and put between valve top and shim/ rocker arm guide. It seems to work and in all fairness they have no place to go from there.

Excelent responses thanks... I wasn't sure of the proper part name I was staring at Nissan 4 u for a while and couldn't be sure of the diagram.
hr-mm feeler gauge sets are cheap I might try that... why not! I can't see them moving around either...

hey guys
My shims are WAY off also, some of them measure .018 inch in gap. i dont like the idea of putting cut peices of guage between my shim and valve but if i havent kicked a rocker with them being this loose then odds are i probebly and less likely to loose one when they are tight correct?
anyway if anyone has a f-up head and some used shims/guides kickin around id surely buy them

He didn't happen to take any pictures, did he? I want to do the same as he did, but am a bit nervous without pictures!
