: p11 or sr16ve
death 02-05-2010, 07:45 PM i have a sr20ve in my car now with p11 transmission i was thinking of going boost when i installed it but like the feel or NA and i think that i am going to stay that way for while.. i also have a sr16ve trans aswell but still have the stock sr20 de computer in my car now so my car only revs to 7600 or whatever a stock car revs to.. my qustion is what trans would be the best for me to use right now
n2nismo 02-05-2010, 09:16 PM only you would now that at this point. what kind of use is the car getting? daily driver, track events?
death 02-06-2010, 01:21 PM car is my everday driver.. i think i am going to put the sr16ve trans in there and have a rev happy engine now all need a calum or jim wolf so i can rev past 7500
javcrodgz 02-06-2010, 01:31 PM SR16 All the way!
n2nismo 02-06-2010, 01:58 PM yeah, the sr16 will definately be the better preformer by far. the trade off is going to be lower gas mileage and you will be at higher rpms especially at freeway speeds, which makes for a louder ride. personally im sticking with the stock b13 trans (shorter gears than the p11 but longer than the sr16) since it is my daily driver, that is untill i decide to go turbo.
death 02-06-2010, 05:28 PM yea that whats what i am going to do i just did not want to put in until was got an ecu that alows me to rev to 8500. what do you guys think will it make that much difference to not be able to rev it out that extra 1000rpms or am i just over thinking this
zerosin 02-07-2010, 12:18 AM I have a '00 B15 tranny in my '99 P11 with a VE. It rocks pretty good, 1st is almost useless unless starting uphill with slicks or with 4 people in the car. Seems like the P11 would be too heavy even with the VE with the P11 tranny compared to the '99 P11 tranny I was running. At least without a VE and mild boost.
Wouldn't the strength of a B15 2.0 tranny squash a 16ve? Ratios of the B15 are right on.

Stock 2.0 cams= 7500 max rev, zipping it to 8k is asking for trouble big time on the stock valve springs.
DaMasterPNut 02-07-2010, 04:31 PM Bullsh*t
death 02-07-2010, 10:33 PM i think i will be fine going to 8k with stock valve springs. but i am going to drop the sr16 in this weekend and see what it feels like
Yellow4g63 02-07-2010, 10:56 PM Roll the dice and join the dead VE head club reving your stock 2.0 cams to 8k. It's not a guess but hell enjoy it's your motor.

How many hours of dyno time do you have under your belt with VE's? If it's more than me then I will say you have learned nothing. FACT peak power is around 7100-7200. After that it falls like a rock so why would reving the stock cams out to 8k do anything other than float the valves. You live longer by learning for other peoples mistakes not repeating them.

so who said anything about stock cams smart guy? i got a set of N1 on the side of bed ready to go to work.. and just so you know dont need valve spings and retainers to run to 8.5 with n1 cams tested and proven the N1 motor had the softest springs and retainers for any ve engine

I said reving to 8k on stock cams is a bad idea. Why don't you hit the rest button and go back up. As sharp as you are I bet your going to break the cam in 2 when u install it .

funny guy. look if this is going to be a dick measuring competition mine is bigger so let’s end that there. as far as installing my cams mikos lives 2 houses down the street from me so don’t need to get my heads dirty to put in cams. This post was a simple question about transmission choices and I thank you for voicing your experiences however your mistakes will not be mine I already have a dyno proven 426hp daily driven det all work done by me.
javcrodgz 02-13-2010, 12:27 PM is it hot in here or is it just me?

I don’t need waste funds on dyno time to prove what has already been proven. why invent the wheel when its already been invented dumb ass
now moving on
1. I love that fact that I have a sr20 gear head down the street from me, who wouldn’t if you have recourses why not use them .
2. the only thing that I would raise a flag over, is you saying that you are Jamaican, shatta rude ***
3.bring any car that you have to Miami and I will walk you like that female dog that you are. with anyone of my cars or my 99 ford lightning
4. once again if this is dick measuring contest I have you beat, and if you keep this up I won’t give your kibbles and bits
death 02-13-2010, 06:56 PM now that trash has been taking out sr16 tranny is in and i am loving it. i should have done this months ago thanks guys
