Does anyone know where a good and reputable autocross track is in the Chicagoland area is? I don't really like the 1/4 mile thing as it's more of a straight line type of race, i am more into autocross the turns the throttle etc. if anyone knows of any in the area i would greatly appreciate it thanx...............peace

The beauty of AutoX is that ya don't need a permanent track to do it. Any big parking lot will do. Different track everytime too. These are set up mostly by car clubs. There's the SCCA and assorted maker clubs.
I'm getting my feet wet w/ the local BMW crew this year. Prolly the most organised of the single make clubs. They do six events a year, not counting the school at the beginning of the season.
The SCCA does more events a year AND you are within 2 hours of 3 major chapters. Chicago, Milwakee and NW Indiana have full summer schedules.
Like, i ran the BMW lot in Maywood Pk today. Tommorow the Chicago SCCA out at Route66 (prolly not gonna go). Next weekend, Miller Park in Milw WI.
In two weeks is the local BMW season finale. That's of course if i don't join the BadgerBimmers @ RoadAmerica (the 4 mile road course).

dood that sounds sweet, i personally don't really like drag because it's too quick and you only use your limited mods for going in a str8 line, auto-x seems more of a thrill *** you get to use it all and it takes longer than 15 secs........
