Got into my car last night and hit the rear defogger.

After about a minute I hear clicking from the fuse box area. I notice the light on my defogger swtich is dim and going on and off. When I hit the switch to turn it off, it did nothing. Then it came on and stayed on, no matter how many times I hit it. All the while I hear this clicking still down by the fuses. I pull over and pulled the fuses to the rear defogger. Problem solved, but now I got no defog.

Any idea what it might be? Bad switch?

Sounds like the rear defrost relay. Replace it and you shouldn't have anymore problems.

Thanks Tricked.

There are 3 relays near the fuse block. Im assuming one of those is the culprit.

Any idea which one it might be? I guess I could just throw the fuses back in and feel which one is clicking.

That's what I'd do.

ok, this is odd.

I havent had the chance to mess with the relays yet. But last night while driving I heard the same clicking from the fuse box. I know its not the rear defog cause the fuses are still out.

Could it be either battery or alternator? Im just hoping its not a wiring problem.

I have the same clicking from my car but my happens when the car is off also sometimes. Also it randomly locks and unlocks itself and sets off the alarm. Anybody know if one of those three relays is the lock/alarm relay? I'm starting to get tired of waking up at 3 am to my alarm going off...

I would check grounds. Seems to be the likely culprit if the relay is good.

Well, the clicking has stopped.

I noticed the negative lead to the battery was a bit loose, so I tightened it up and so far so good!
