I just picked my classic up from the dealership today, they replaced the clutch, and the clutch cable, and i was taking it very easy on the clutch to break it in, and today on the highway it started slipping in 3rd and 4th. what is the problem?! any help would be greatly appreciated

take it back as soon as you can if the dealership did it....tell them to fix it in a nice way and they will...now if they dont, then threaten a lawyer :) see how fast they get things done hehe

Make sure you have around a 1/4 inch slack on the cable before the TO bearing engages the pressure plate fingers. It sounds to be partialy disengaged just enough to slip the clutch buy not haveing enough slack in other words your TO bearing is riding the PP fingers equaling partialy disengaged clutch=bad. You should be able to move the clutch release lever 1/4 inch before you feel resistance.

regardless of what the problem is, take it back to the dealership to have them fix it. if you tamper with it, they may void the waranty

oh yeah...take it back... Who knows what they did wrong, but in any case, it's their problem to fix. You paid to have it fixed, not to have them create another problem.
