thats great....why post that in a CA section? Theres dozens of states that are more modified car friendly than CA, I dont see them rubbing it in LMAO

So I got pulled over in the VE powered B14 inside Santa Fe Dam park in Irwindale yesterday. The cop pulled me over for modified exhaust then told me to pop the hood and saw the header and the intake. Hit me with 21750VC for the exhaust and 27156(b)VC for modified emissions system - state referee certificate required. Luckily he didn't get me for tinted rear turn signals, tinted front windows, and no front license plate (in front window). So what happens next? My car will pass out the tailpipe with no problems as it did this past September, but it definitely won't pass a state referee visual since it doesn't have EGR. Can I pay the fine and not fix it? Will it affect my driving record? Points? Affect my car registration?

Any info or advice is greatly appreciated!

damn its like that? and here i wanted to move back to frisco with my se-r. down here in arizona they dont trip so much of all that,as a matter of fact if your car cant pass like my old g20 did all you need is a friend in the miidle of nowhere (globe is where i did it)to register it for you and theres no emmisions, not that it helps you any, sorry.

Just got off the phone with West Covina Traffic Court.....the fine is $619 with no corrections. It's about what I expected.:squint:

that really blows.... if you do the corrections, how long do you have?

until the appearance date on the ticket, which is 4/28/10. The only thing I can correct is the exhaust.....unless I feel like doing a complete engine swap, which isn't going to happen. The fine is under a limit I set for myself, so I'm just going to pay it and be done with it.

That freaken sucks bro. If you just pay the fines are they gonna hit you with points on your record?

From what I've gathered so far, no, since it's fix-it type citation not associated with my driving record.

Well that's a bit of sunshine for ya :) Stuff like this is why I have yet to put on headers and stuff. With my luck I'd get rolled right outta the driveway

I did a google search of this ticket issued to ppl of 27156vc... I discovered many ppl get a white sticker on the back which means they must ref. the car and the small box is checked yes for correctional.

My question to you Robert is, did you get this sticker on the back of your ticket and is this correctable or not correctable for you?

I recently got one also for emissions however the box was marked no for correctable and I did not have a sticker on the back... any clue to what that means(anyone)?

Sorry you have to pay the fine but at least you get to keep your setup as is. I am currently working on something that may allow us to having headers and intakes without issues... well see how this goes.

Yes, my ticket did have the white sticker on the back with the state ref phone # to schedule an appointment. The exhaust part was checked as non-correctable as well, but yet the officer told me it was and I could have it signed off by the CHP, etc. When I talked to the court, they stated it was correctable and if I were to correct the emissions violation then my fine would have been around $50. Had I corrected just the exhaust, my total fine would have $471.

wow... ok. Well thats good to know that I have an option... although sh*tty.
Hopefully things work out to not have to pay so much money out of our pockets :(
