so i got a 01 SE not to long ago, thinking of doing a turbo on it over time and i am just curious how to find if i do have the LSD, also after some reading on here i'm curious to know if i might have a VLSD or is that an aftermarket part addition or oem?

reason i ask is if i am changing all the fluids on the car if i can change the fluids in the LSD or if its a sealed unit (there was some banter on other posts but i couldn't figure out if it needs to be changed or if by changing the tranny fluid itself will do this)

01 SE came with both LSD and non LSD. Check for a bulge on the driver's side of the transmission where the CV goes in. There's pictures in the driveline/transmission section.

It's an OEM option. It's VLSD, so changing your transmission gear oil is what lubricates the LSD unit.

I have a 01 se and i have vlsd. Do u have the pp package?

If your oem tags are still there when you open the drives door, check it for v at the end of the trans serial #.

Also there is seperate fluid inside the vlsd diff unit. It is sealed and not replaceable (Lifetime fluid). Silicone I think. When it gets hot it gets thick and thus drives both front wheels.

no V on the end of the trans # and i'll have to wait to get under and check for the bulge if its a LSD
as for the P/P it does have cruise/sunroof and all that good stuff but i'm sure there's some info on the car somewhere that will let me know if it is, i'll do soem more reading first

Im sure you have vlsd

so i checked the engine, its got a bigger bulge on the drivers side near the diff unlike my QG (checked some picson here and its the same style cast) lifted it up and the spin is dead on same motion as well
