OH YEAH!!
Damn! i was in the back half of the BMW autoX E(verything else) classificaiton; the competition was fierce. All of us non Bavarians are stuck together, me and guys w/ Porsche 911 track sluts wearing R-rated slicks. At least i oWneD the little old lady in the newer Lude by way over a second. The one w/ 4-point harness, her own helmet, Konis and Bridgestone SO-3s. =P
Split some Subbies again too. Whohoo!
Pics here.

APEX?
Nice and neutral.

YIKES!
FTD was a 911 @ low ~54sec but cars like that were postin ~55sec times. My best run, noncompetitive of course =( was 57.5sec.
Yup the weekend warrior on street tires.

Nope wasn't me. I made sure i copied it when it was up *** (right before the current one by Serban was finalized).
I also thought it was hilarious. We were getting a hair too serious about things then.

Oh yeah he's a little saggy in spots. The door is bad enough that i get some SERious wind noise at anything above 30mph if the car is closed. Downright howling at highway speeds. Door hinges are some of the 'too many parts still in boxes'.
Like Erik from RI sayz, 'don't look like much, but he's got it where it counts'. AND he's gonno get more.

More door sag.

Aw man ya should have pointed out the door sag too. :p
I had a couple people walk up to me and comment on the impressiveness of the beaters' times.
"So what have ya done to that?" I heard.
"Intake, exhaust, some bushings, good tires; not much really." Was my answer.
My best competitive time (58.05ish) was bracketed by different drivers in same 4door WRX on Potenza SO-3s. The faster is a BMW cone Master; 'Zen' Ben Thongsai.
I finally had a setup i was WAY happy with. All it took was front arm bushings and excessive rear tire pressure (44psi cold).
It's the car mostly ***, such a tossable little bugger, str8 from the factory. Even 10yrs and 125K miles later. B13 grin factor on a cone strewn parking lot is HUGE.

I wanna autoX! Everytime I see this construction site near my house (which has those little orange cones through an entire 2 lanes) I just want to swerve over and then back into the lane YEAH! :D :D

Damn, I keep missing out on the Windy City AutoX's! (stupid work schedule...) Congrats on your times. This just shows that you do not need the fansy, super-expensive suspension set-ups to be competative at the local autoX's. It's all about the driver. And yes, Ben Thongsai is the man when it comes to BMW's. He was going to do my M50 transplant into my '90 E30 325, but things didn't work out between my 325 and an Altima =-(

What a f-in bummer. An e30 is w/ M50 would have been so sweet.
There is still one on Oct 6, bring whateva. I'll be there if i can't get into BadgerBimmers RoadAmerica school.
#1 on waiting list, actually i think i'm in. =D
OR i may be headed up to Milwakee next weekend and run the SCCA AutoX.

Oh yeah failed to mention what was up w/ the booboo on my bumper. Labeled '????' in the doctored pic.
Here is another pic showing it better.
http://homepage.interaccess.com/~motria/tednewbrake1.jpg
That was from a street racing incident; i was racing off the street into my garage cause i had to hit the can BAD. Thought i was going to explode. Between that, being tired from a long day @ werk and trying not to hit the Bimmah on the way in, i managed to tag the g-door opening.
There is actually a matching mark on the right rear bumper too.
Oh well more reasons for people on the street to think 'maybe i should get out of his way.'
