Since the PS header is not coated, how durable is it? Does it last for a good amount of time or will it rot out after a couple of years?

Almost had mine for 2 years...No problems.

I do figure rust will get the best of it but I figure it will be a few years from now so if I get 5 years out of it I will be happy.

I put mine on today. So far so Good, but I painted mine with high temp paint.

Is there an application for a 95-97 200SX SE-R though? I only see listings for the 1.6 litre engine. My local parts store could only find that or the 91-94 SE-R listed too.

I had mine for a little over 2 years, and right when I changed headers, there was a rust hole on the flange at the flex joint, but a muffler shop can fix it right up. Other than that, its a good header for the price. You cant expect TOO much from it.

what if you get the ceramic coated header? is it protected against rust or does the coating just burn off like the black paint on their regular headers?

the armorcoat does not burn off like the black paint does... it doesn't look like they coated the inside ***

So if you're planning on re-painting your header with high temp paint would you guys say it would be a better deal to just get the black header. If so, all that is involved is sanding all of the paint off and then just re-coating the header with hight temp paint correct?

that is the one they sent me , I just had the emissions I didn't need welded. if you only drive short trips alot you'll have more chance of rusting as the engine won't warm up all the way. people that drive short trips tend to have ehuast problems sonner due to condensation.

Those headers really arent durable they have a tendency to crack!.....just like the saying goes¨you get what you pay for¨...save yourself the time and money and do it once and right get some hotshot headers....

Pffft!

All headers crack! There is a thread about every header made for the SR20DE and how the owner is pissed cause the header cracked.

Some crack, some don't. It is a gamble with all of the headers.

For $152 shipped to my door, it is well worth it to spend another $20 to get all the welds completed correctly and paint it with a $4 can of high temp paint. It'll last a good 3 years or more that way. By that time, you'll probably want another header, go turbo, or sell your car.

I know I'll fall into one of the above categories, definitely!

Do you have any experience with this or are you trying to raise your post count by repeating things you read. Lightweight. I'm tired of seeing post from people that have no experience with the topic at hand. NismoPC has experience with this matter since he has bee advising me on this for some time. he has hadd his PS for a long time. and if you get 2 years out of a $150 header it is well worth it. I'd like to see a forum where only those *** first hand knowledge answer questions and post whore wait till they have experience with a matter before they post.
