Yes, people use VE pumps on the DE to resolve oil pressure issues.

just to let you know, i was told by greg v himself, that you can use the de spacer with the de crank pulley or ve spacer with ve crank pulley. u just gotta keep it one or the other.

That is true IF you are using the DE pump. With the VE pump you must use the VE or Gspec spacer or the crank pulley will crush the pump when the crank bolt is tightened. If you have installed one you would understand why.

i haven't compared it myself, but just going on what Greg V told me. maybe he was wrong on that part.

as for the oil pressure, the more oil pressure the better.

I got a little bit confused on this... To be able to use a VVL oil pump with your aluminum DE crank pulley... Do you only need to use a spacer or do you need to use a spacer + a VVL pulley too?

Formula

stock crank (DE or DET) + VVL oil pump + spacer + VVL pulley ok

stock crank (DE or DET) + VVL oil pump + no spacer + VVL pulley or DE pulley NO ok

stock crank (DE or DET) + VVL oil pump + spacer + DE pulley ok????


Hopefully someone with experience can answer it.

when i had my vvl oil pump, i have never compared or confirmed it myself. from what greg v told me, the differences between the whole spacer/pulley part is the just those two. de/ve oil pumps have same dimensions. he said that the ve pulley is slightly different, which is why the ve spacer is needed. the de pulley and de spacer will put the belt at the same location as the ve pulley and ve spacer. as long as you don't mix and match the de and ve pulleys/spacers. i believe the crank has nothing to do with it. he did confirm it to me at least twice, but since there are others who are questioning it, you might want a third confirmation.
