Hey guys, i noticed while i was driving to work today. When I was on the freeway doing over 65, the temp gauge would go from the normal position and start bouncing back down to colder. Once i slowed down though back under 65 it went to normal.

What would cause this? Im in Socal, and it was a normal cooler day today, thing crazy.

Bad temp sensor maybe?

any help would be appreciated :)

check the connection on the sensor at the back of the block

Is the connection by the. firewall? I know the actual therm is in the front of the motor isn't it? Thanks again

I have a thermostat and I can't get my car to warm up lol. Mines probably never seen the "normal" range. I have the same problem on a 50-65 spring day

Its the connection right above your power steering pump.

Could also be air in the system.

Honestly, I had that same issue and it was the temperature sending unit. It's the little black, skinny sensor right next to your coolant temp sensor. The piece should cost no more than $20 from Autozone or Kragen or a local autoparts store.

the little tab came loose on the sensor, its just rivited on. All ya gotta do is take a aluminum drift or a decent length of 3/8ths extension and give it a lil wack with a hammer to tighten it up.

put the wire back on and it should be all good
