Hello everyone. I own a B14 with a few mods. And a lil about me, I am very bias with Nissan and against Honda. Maybe there are those of you who own a honda as well, no offense, but Im sick of honda and its popularity. I did own a civic once and when I switched to nissan 4 years ago, I was impressed by powerplant, and only now, I joined this site to understand more about the SR20 to see and make sure I made the right switch going from Honda to Nissan.

the only engine hondas got going for it the b16c which they dont make anymore. usually honda drivers have some old civic hatch with cut springs and a hood sprayed black, hahaha. however i got respect for Type R's and RSX-s. lets be honest everything nissan makes is sick and can be made fast wile maintaining variety . 240sx s13, s14, s15, sentra se-r, 300zx, 350z, 370z, maxima. and theres all the front ends you can get fro 240sx: zenki, kouki.

Im al for building a SR20ve engine for my RWD Datto and have a S15 SR20DET in my datsun now ive been in plenty of SR20DET powered cars even a 10sec Sil80 with RB26.
As far as turbo engines got Nissan has it hands down.
NA engines Nissan wouldn't hold a candle to Honda in anyway. They have been making 100hp/L engines for years and years and do so with ease.
The K20A and F20C should be feared by all NA engines out there.
The B16A was a great power plant which lead onto the mighty B18C5, B16B (Type R engines)
The Type are Integra is this the best FWD platform ever built. And id say will continue to do so for years to come.

RWD go Nissan all the way FWD Honda owns anything Nissan can do. Even the Mighty N1 Pulsar which they made next to piss all of anyway.

Oh ive owned Type R Civics and Non Type R Civic powered cars (B18C) etc if you can't tell.

Honda only dominates the NA, ONLY when the have their beloved v-tec. Without v-tec, the b16 falls short, even against the nissan's GA16DE in terms of torque(hp is same)
Despite the popular belief of the Type R being the best FWD platform, Nissans answers back with the 200+ hp SR16VE N1 engine(the most powerful production 1.6l JDM normally aspirated engine ever made) - the only drawback is the engine is rare, so not many realize its capability.

The K20 evens fall short (torque-wise) against the SR20VE,
and if anything, what Nissan lacks in HP, compared to Honda, it makes up in torque. Honda may have been making variable valve timing for years, but Nissan built it 4 years earlier.

And since we are now talking about engines beyond SR20, lets not forget about the 6-Cylinders NA engines- now Nissan will dominate Honda with the VQ series.

Wasn't the STIG driving that N1 and that video and James May in the ITR.
I didn't actually mention anything else that couldn't be compared to a SR20 etc Honda only really focused on Economy in there 6 cylinder cars.
The N1 can hardly even really be counted (in my opinion) its was a super super special 1 off run of the very best Nissan and Autech could create. They made what less than 500. Hell these thousands and thousands of ITRs and CTRs out there. Im sure if Honda decided to make a 1 off run of 500 super special cars it would be far far better than the many many R type vehicles its made before and and i would expect it would go far and above the 128hp/L mark of the N1
But it never happened just making a point of how the N1 is so rare it can hardly be counted (IN MY OPINION)

Um According to wikipidia (i don't retain all this Info in my head) The K20A = 180kw@8400 and 216nm @7000rpm
SR20VE 20V engine = 152kw 206nm (only focused on the NA cars here)

Hell Nissan couldn't even figure out a way to make the VE engine viable to build. But thank good they did cos even if it sounds contradictory to what ive said above they are a bloody fantastic engine and i cant wait to get in there and have a good play with one.

Where Honda fell short was that it didn't embrace Forced induction like all the other Japanese Manufacturers and also its lack of RWD platforms.

Very well, good point there. Okay I will admit, I got carried away a bit. I have nothing against Honda. I really don't. But, I just think people focus too much on Horsepower/kW, and less on torque/Nm. And a lot of NA people turn to Honda for horsepower even though they lack in torque - and that's were Nissan comes in, with their flat torque curve abilities.
And I know it's a matter of opinion as far as Horsepower vs Torque. but I think torque is what matters for better track time. Hell I could be wrong.

You "v10moped" are the best person ive ever had an online debate with. Ever so many people get carried away i was about to come on here an apologize for over steeping the mark.
