Sup guys, I joined awhile back when I had an sr20 240. As much as I love the engine I really want to try to build a SOHC ka. I figured I might as well post here due to knowing alot of sr20 guys on here have extra ka's sitting around right?:biggthump

I would prefer something that was pulled running, or atleast no cracked block, ie, something rebuildable atleast. Trying to find a ka24e, later model, with lower compression than the 89s.

Also if anyone has a complete 5 speed swap *including trans* I may be interested as well. Thanks guys.

Edit: If you have a block only thats what I would prefer. I just want to build a bottom end to handle boost more reliably without putting me in the shop all the time. So, if you have a block from a 90+ sohc...let me know!

Building a KA24E. Going for torque?

Well, honestly I just want to due to never hearing about it in my area. I hear alot about the dohc ka t, and of course sr20s and rbs, but I like the idea of the sohc and trying to just keep the car original as far as the engine choice.

So no one has a ka block sitting in their garage they want to clean out?

I have a block from a dohc thats been bored 20 over and the main caps were line honed. ran for 300 miles and spun a rod bearing. I am in Wisconsin though. I am not even sure if they can be swapped.

I have heard of them being swapped...but taking alot of work. I would probly be interested though, I would rather see if a sohc comes along but if not I wouldnt mind doing dohc.
