wats good guys i need some help if anyone care to help
i have a 200sx *** the sr20 det swap in it and the gauge say its over heating..
when i turn the car on and have it running after 4 min the dial is in the middle.. when i start driving it it rises all the way to the top .. i was thinking it could be my temperture sensor switch.. but i have not got a chance to change it yet
also i think my timing is bumped up one notch could that cause over heating also>

Did you use your USDM sensor? If not, its just the sensor. If you used the correct sensor, you prob just need to bleed the cooling system?

First things first, This may sound silly but it comes from personal exp.
1) Check to make sure your Water Pump Belt is ON!!!
2) Next your coolant sensor (it's a cheap part) Replace it.
3) Bleed Coolant System
4) Test with Thermastat Removed
Do it in that order... process of elimination
And yes I fell Victim to #1:squint: ....

Yes, 12lbs on stock internals and stock (T25) Turbo
An internally (Bottom End) Stock SR20 can handle around 500whp
A Factory (T25) Turbo Falls out of it's Efficiency Range at 14lbs I believe......
Then..... Your just blowing A Lot of Hot Air:biggthump
Keep us posted!

What??? Top left bolt?? From where the Thermostat is located look at the upper left corner, There's a 10mm bolt there You can see the notch in the housing where the coolant would flow thru that hole....
Now, No coolant coming out the bleeder? Oh man .... I've never been in that situation.....What I would do is Remove the thermostat and check that area... You can see where the coolant we be deverted to the bleeder hole, I would see if it's wet and/or coolant present in the surrounding area...
If the coolant made it to the thermostat you can rule out any clogging in the head.... Then I guess I would check the bleeder hole... Maybe That clogged??
Good luck

I just had to go through the same exact problem with my sr20de. After much strife and trying everything short of changing out the water pump my friend suggested double checking the temp sensor which controls the gauge. I remember changing out the temp sensor which is a two wire harness type sensor. There is another sensor next to that one which is a one wire sensor. THAT WAS IT! All that time I thought i was overheating, but there was nothing wrong. Just changed out the one wire temp sensor going to the temp gauge and problem solved.
Good Luck!
