Well I have been noticing that something funny was going on with my tranny or clutch. I really didnt have any problems out of it, it would just act wierd sometimes especially when I would push the clutch in to slow down it felt like the tranny would grab even though the clutch was pushed in but the clutch has never slipped since I have had the car. Well last week my wife and I was out riding around trying to decide where to eat when I have to stop at a stop light well I push in the clutch come to a stop try to put the car back in first gear and it wouldnt go tried second no go and for all the other gears the some thing. Finally after sitting there for about a minute cars passing me by I get mad and jab it into first with the clutch all way to the floor. it grinded the gear and went in but then tried to take off like as if I hadnt even used the clutch. Well I let off the clutch and it stopped the grinding noise and took off like normal I drove it back home it did fine. I decided to take it out around the base for a spin and about 2 mins into my ride basically no clutch at all what is the problem? Could it be the throwout bearing or could it be the whole clutch assembly gone out. It is a Centerforce and like I said it has never slipped or anything that is why Im thing it is the TOB. Any ideas from any of you on what it could be.

ive heard nasty things about centerforce....try an act or a jwt setup

getting to your question i dont know speciffically what your problem is but it almost sounds like the selector forks are bent seeing you cant even get it in gear (barely). anyone else want to thow out some ideas?

could it be the clutch cable? was the catch point originally low? might want to try "tightening" the clutch cable. i'm having clutch problems myself, but of different sorts from you. it's such a headache thinking about changing it.

The car was originaly my younger brothers and he was the one that had the centerforce put in there. After he had it done I drove the car and said that the clutch was way out of adjustment. When I drove the car it would start to take off when you had the clutch pedal barely off the floor. I tould him that the clutch needed adjusting but Im not even sure how long he drove before having it adjusted I know it was a awhile. The clutch has probably been in there for over 2 years. I think Im just gonna get one of those clutches from nissan-accessories.com. I have read that they do a good job. I dont have alot of money to do anything really but have to do something! Im also gonna get a new clutch cable and put that in there so I dont have to worry about it to.

funny thing...i think i'm just about to do the same thing as you ringgold. i'm no drag demon, nor do i street race or anything, so the oem nissan-accessorie clutch should suit me just fine. the sad part is, my clutch cable is only 6 months old and feels shot to hell. oh well. when you do install the clutch, make sure you grease up the throwout bearing real well. also, i've been told to replace the rear main seal and the axle seal while i'm at it. they're like $5 a piece, supposedly. good luck!

I do give my car hell sometimes but you know you cant help it sometimes:D :D But I have read on here that the stock clutch will hold up to some drag race action. And that would be good for me because I dont have super high output engine.
