Hey,
In a few weeks i am doing some suspension work to my 98 SE, shocks, springs. What difficulties have people run into? Are there any tiny washers, etc that i may need to purchase in advance? Do I need to torque to spec or just tighten stuff up? I am worried b/c of a rattle in my front right susp. tower...someone said it could be a busted washer. Any insight would be helpful!!!
Thanks

the suspension is pretty basic. On the front, 3 nuts at the top, two bolts at the bottom of the strut. There's this fiber/gasket thing at the top of the sturt which goes between the strut and chassis. I just tightened down the 3 nuts at the top to whatever. I think the strut bolts at the bottom are tightened to 75 lb-ft. The rear shocks are just 2 nuts at the top and one bolt at the bottom. That's about it.

oh yeah, a spring compressor wouldn't be a bad idea. and I'm pretty sure the nuts and bolts for the struts and shocks are 17mm at the bottom.

Do you think it's possible to have a broken nylon gasket? How large/thick is it?

that fiber gasket thing is only like 1mm thick, I doubt it would cause any problem. I don't even know why it's even there. The only place I can think of there being a prob with the front strut is at the top of the strut where it bolts to the upper mount. I'm not familar with how it goes together though, I just changed out to adjustable camber plates. Maybe somehow the stock top mount broke? That would take some serious effort to do though, maybe some hard core off roading or something.
