Hey folks. I have searched around a bit and found this thread (http://www.sr20forum.com/general-sr20/200924-troubleshooting-air-conditioning.html) to be helpful but I have some specific questions that I didn't see mentioned there.

My AC compressor is dying. Whenever I turn it on, if the engine is warmed up it will either immediately kill the car or start the belt slipping and temps will rise dramatically. I've replaced the belt already and running with no AC the temps are now normal in city/highway.

Since I have to replace the compressor anyway I want to know if the compressor for a 94 200SX or Sentra would bolt on, fit the same belt, with no clearance issues etc in my 92. SR20DE. I would have to replace all the seals, drier, and I do plan to get the freon vacuumed out before doing any replacement. What else would I have to change other than the fittings in the 'retrofit kits' and obviously the 134? Can I use the same lines or what would I need to find to replace them?

Please suggest anything I haven't mentioned.

no the 93-94 a/c comp won't work unless you have the lines. they are bent a different way. so 91-92 will work. After you get the right comp. you can use the same lines but you will have to get a R-134 adapter that screws onto your R-12 lowside line so it makes it easier to work with. Also make sure it has the rubber o-ring in it. you should be fine if you replace the drier bottle and use the correct oil for R-134.
