So my original tranny on my b13 finally gave out, I have an sr20det under the hood, and would like to get a B15 tranny to replace my old one. So I havent looked very much, as this happened yesterday, but the only place I could find one is at jgycustoms, and I live on the west coast, would like to find a more local source. I wouldn't have a problem with getting one from a junkyard but dont know what to look for to make sure I would be getting the correct one with lsd. But I also looked at the thread to install a phantom grip in a non lsd, so I guess I could go that route too. So basically I would like to know of any places on the west coast or better yet in the Northwest, and also what I need to know to get the right trans at a junkyard, thanks

well what do you think your odds are of finding someone that knows the inventory of all local-to-you junkyards, is going to be?

You obviously misunderstood me. I meant to ask about how to identify which ones will work in my car, like which years were best and what models had open diff or lsd like a sentra se or what not. I know obviously that I need one from the B15 chassis, but didn't know if there were any years that wouldn't work, so when I ask somebody at a junkyard I know what to ask for more specifically, and also if there is a shop like jgy thats not so far away.

2000-2001 Sentra or 2000-2001 Infiniti G20 are the years and models of the vehicles for high hp engines.
The g20 has taller gears in first and second i.e. better for turbocharged cars. If you are looking in a junkyard the driver's side of the transmission will bulge around the axle seal. The axle seal will also be much larger then the passenger side axle seal.
Hope this helps ya out a little bit.

Try car-part.com they are like an online junkyard. That is where I found my P11 tranny. I paid $600 for a non-lsd and you can get a phanton grip for around $300. I bought mine from lqk and they gave me a 6 month warranty on it as well. Good luck on finding a used p11 lsd tranny at a junkyard. Like Iroc said 2000-2001 infiniti g20 and sentra 5 speed trannys. You may also have to convert the new transmission to cable clutch if thats what you have now. Hope that helps.

Never installed it :D. Just decided to run a non-lsd tranny for the time being, its just as strong as the lsd besides having the traction issues which aren't too bad. I got friends that run em and they are great *** i run about 360 whp on mine daily.
