My car is acting up again....I just got through putting my new GREDDY TYPE S bov on:cool: i threw the ebay knock off turbo xs out the window on I20 at 60mph. i get back home and cut the car off it sits for maybe 10min and it acts like its flooded. i had to pull the injector clips and turn the key and it cranks and shuts off. i plug injectors back up and it cranks up if i have my foot on gas but if it doesnt catch the i have to repeat the process. My adjustable fpr is set at 43 with vac unhooked. my o2 isnt hooked up and im running no exhaust.

Fix the exhaust, hook up the o2 sensor.
Also is your bov vented to the atmosphere? Also is it a draw through MAF setup or blow through?

bov is vented and its a draw through

If the bov is vented then it will act like a large vac leak and run rich. The o2 sensor helps to compensate by reading the air/fuel ratio but if it isn't hooked up then the ecu will run rich all the time, and the MAF won't read correctly.

is this 100% correct? I've always ran vented but now I'm questioning whether my 02 sensor is wired correctly because I'm running super rich!

i just dont get how a vented bov can act like a vac leak ive seen loads of sr20det turbos run a bov and never had a problem

yeah agreed on that one lol it surely cant cause that all bov's work the same way as do recirculating vavles they all have to dump somewhere back down the intake or to atmosphere

Do you not know how bov works?

It relieves pressure as soon as vaccum hits it, by opening. Turbo engines have vacuum any time they aren't a load. So any time you are cruising down the highway or idling your letting un metered air in.

When you are pressure testing you have to put pressure on the vac hose that goes to the bov too or it will leak a lot easier than under real conditions.

yeah i know how the bov valve works i just dint understand how a vent to atmosphere bov valve would cause a leak
