well i was out with my congressman at his golf tournament that he has every year, and i was talking to this one guy...he said hes from alliance of automobile manufacturers and he can get me hooked up with the guys from nissan who represent the company...i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on what you would like to see (realistically) come from Nissan in the next few years...this will be forwarded on to the reps so dont go crazy here.

I want to generate tons of response so its almost like a petition...even if you think your thoughts are stupid put em down...we gotta get the support here :)

bring back the sr20, but make it better, mabye some cvct, or some vvt, and a turbo if they get a chance too! keep it closed deck and have a ridicuolsly over built bottom end. then give me one. But I guess thats not to realistic.

Bring back the SR20... I think that is realistic enough. After all if they brought back the Z, why not the SR20?

A sr20ve powered car would be a dream come true. maybe a SR20ve B15 SE-R? That would be nice, and not unrealistic with the way they are going all NA.

Or how about a track model B15 SE-R in suit with the track model 350z? and more nissan motorsorts NA support. sorry ideas keep popping in my head.

How about the SR20DET?? I'm sure if these engines came in ANY cars we would scoop 'em up!!

I would bet money that the SR20VE & DET cant pass gov't mandated emissions standards *for manufacturers*.

On the business side of things, I cannot see why they wouldnt have already brought these over here.

Even the plain ole SE-R was omitted in CA for 97, as well as the redline being brought down over the years. Whatever made Nissan do that is probably ehat stopped them from bringing the more potent (and probably more dirty) versions here.

I WOULD SAY a sr20det or vvl but those engines are dirty and i doubt that they are going to dump there new ser so. a 2 door coupe with a 3.5 ser would do nicely. hey the camry has a coupe and so does honda accord. make this car answer to the vr6 small bodt 6 cyl power.

1. B15 SER Coupe with sr20 ve or det
2. 240sz with DET
3. 3.5L SER ;) (hey, why not?!?)

how about a rwd car to fit in the market just behind the z. like a 240sx. they could use the qr25 and call it a 250sx. a 2 door maxima, altima, and sentra. a hatchback 3 door sentra se-r. more horsepower out of the se-r. either way, we need more coupes and a cheap rwd.

Great idea!

A quick and cheap RWD 2-door! And make it boxy.

Well, I'm guessin the B15 chassis is about done. So make sure the next one has an independent rear! I'm guessing it will though considering that the altima does. Also, offer a perfermance version WITHOUT a big stereo system. I can install my own stereo thank you very much! Need something to compete with this new Mazdaspeed Protege as far as handling goes! Gotta have LSD, preferably a helical one.

didnt that one guy who went sr20ve-t pass emissions with just a cat? he said they could easily pass emissions if nissan put a little money into it. after all the engines new not like an sr20de (which isnt that old either)

i say bring back the classic cars and re sell them new again!

the b13 se-r the s13 Silvia (not the 240!):p the original 240z nx2k the 510 build up some damn repoire (sp?) and make the enthusiasts happy and show them you want to build "fun" cars! not just family cars with power

i want handling more than power if so be it br

Would really like to see the Skyline GTR and the Silvia here.
Of course under the Nissan badge instead of the Infiniti badge.
That way....maybe Nissan cars will get more respect than the Honda cars.....maybe then we'll see a few nissans on the GT races on speedvision.

Now, remember, I'm talking about *manufacturers* requirements, which are more stringent than the individual emissions testing you and I do.

I've disconnected my EGR and AIV and I would bet my car would still pass emissions requirements for individuals (at least here in Nashville).

But manufacturers get different across-the-board standards. (That's why the 97 SE-R wasn't produced in Cali.. it was deemed to "dirty" by CARB)
