Here is the best way, I learned this from NismoDriver. Take off the 17 or 18mm nut, then grab the left and right side, and pull on it, left to right, it should come loose, and come right off.

Get a steering wheel puller at a local parts shop. It's usually about $8. It is really easy with one of these.

I second the steering wheel puller. Serban is either a strong mofo or very lucky :D, because I've had two different steering wheels on and off several times lately and no amount of pulling and rocking would get either one to come loose.

Hope this helps.

Unscrew that nut, but leave it threaded a just a little. Pull as hard as you can, give it some good hard nasty tugs and in a bit you'll find out why you left that nut there - otherwise you would've knocked yourself out.

Leaving the Nut on may have helped... I guess since I am a nut....

Anyways I've pulled a few SE-R steering wheels now, never with a puller - I'm a scrawny guy - if I can do it.....

I'm not a strong mofo, or lucky, its just that easy to get the wheel off :) give it a shot! Dont just pull the wheel straight off, you have to wiggle it from side to side while you pull.

OK, you send me your $25 Momo wheel and I will wiggle mine off so I can install it. ;) :D

Besides, I have a puller. Mechanical advantage to the rescue!

You dont want a steering wheel that you cant use the horn with ;)

I need to get that taken care of, ever since I put it on, I need to use the horn more and more! People cant drive

Serban, you might want to check out Importnut's website ( http://importnut.net/ ). He came up with a good solution to wiring the horn with an aftermarket wheel hub. I'm using about half of his method, since instead of the spiral wiring, my B12 wheel has a contact ring for the horn.

Hope this helps.

Hmm..thats interesting, I will have to come up with a way to rig that. BTW, if you're using the B12 hub, does the ring not reach that one contact at the bottom of the steering column?? If so, shoot me some info on how you did yours. Thanks :)

haha, just like everyone said, wiggle and pull, but be ready to get smacked in the face the first time.. that leaving the nut thing is pretty smart ***... i've had to take mine off a couple of times, since the horn wasn't working properly, and another time it didn't line up properly because I had bad alignment, wheel was crooked even though I was going straight.
