I bought the mandrel bent 6061 aluminum from http://www.burnsstainless.com, the black silicon hose connectors from http://www.innovativeturbo.com and http://www.matrixengineering.cc/, and the two maf adapters from a local list member.

The inner tube is 2.5", and the outer is 3". All in all, it was around $200 to make, but its just as nice as the aem or place racing ones (and I did it myself :). On the other end is my JWT intake and velocity stack. Noticable improvement in mid range torque, and it sounds wonderful! I found a local welder that attached the 5/8" and 1/2" connectors on the inner tube piece. He did a great job.

Its a hawker odyssey pc680. Basically, the dynobat is an overpriced rebadged hawker battery. I don't think its the odyssey either.

I have had no problems with it yet, but it hasn't gotten that cold yet either. We'll see this winter - however, it doesn't get too horribly cold here in Portland.

The battery only weighs like 14 lbs. Much easier than relocating a big one to the trunk. The battery tray it sits in is custom too.

I picked it up at a local (Portland) battery store chain for around $100. You can probably find it cheaper online.

Manufacturers website:
http://www.odysseyfactory.com

Since its a sealed battery, only normal shipping charges apply (not hazardous)

Aaron,

I am in the Portland area as well. Who did you get it from locally?

PS: Great job on the CAI!

Wow, it looks great. What made you decide to build your own instead of buying one?

When you purchased the mandrel bent aluminum... did you already know the part numbers or did you have to figure them out? Could you list the part numbers for us?

Did you powedercoat or spray paint the aluminum?

If you had to do it again, would you do it the same way or would you change anything?

Thanks again and it looks great!

I must say, that unit looks as good as my PR unit in those pictures. It has a little better run than my PR unit also. Great job. I was going to get the hawkins battery but the miata battery from westco caught my eye. Westco has a SVR series for audio that is a sealed battery for 95 shipped and it has a great reserve and cca is up there.

These are 7.5" x 7.5" x 5" i think, very small and capable
