For those interested in seeing/participating in some autocrossing head out to MetroZoo this weekend. There will be autocrosses on Saturday and Speedtrials on Sunday. I'll be there both days!

do you have any more info? whats speedtrial? is it like an auto-x? i want to go there on sunday. how much does it cost and when does it start? thanks

Well, I took second on Saturday and third on Sunday. I got beat by 3/10ths of a second on Saturday and 7/10ths of a second on Sunday. Both times I got beat by a multiple time National Champ who just bought a VW GTI Turbo S. Its a limited edition GTI with a six speed, etc. The fact that I was even that close to his time was a miracle!

The next event will be held in the Keys MM14 on 10/23-13 and then at the ZOO again 10/26-27. Come on out and lets see Nissan kick a little ass! Well, except for that damned GTI!

Whoops! Sorry I got back to you so late. Speedtrials are a special event held by ER that most closely resembles an open track event. The course has no slaloms or boxes just a series of short straights, sweepers and an occasional "s" bend. You are given a warm up lap and then 3 consecutive timed laps followed by a cool down lap. Its the most fun you can have other than attending a driving school at Homestead or Sebring.

I just realized that i have a board exam on the 26th. I won't be there saturday but will be there sunday. When I find out what friends of mine will be there, I'll tell them to call you so that you can hook up with them and get going.

If you are going to attend on Sunday, they usually like for you to take a short driving school on Saturday afternoon and they give you practice laps on the Speedtrial course. Then you would show up on Sunday, do practice runs in the morning (10 minutes of continuous hot lapping) and then your timed runs in the afternoon. If I remember correctly, the school and Speedtrial are $40 a piece. DO you still have the 662-xxxx phone? If so, I'll call you there later on with more info. Nope, just show up and drive on Saturday. By the end of the day you'll be jonesing for the drivers school so you can come back on Sunday!

Just be sure to put like 40psi in your front tires so you don't rub off the sidewalls!

Hell ya! As it is, we pretty much have a mobile city going to every autocross. Its usually me, 2 CRXs, a VR6 Jetta, an RSX-Type S, and a Miata all hanging out together. A fw more Nissans representing would be SWEET!!!

Metro Zoo is this weekend. ER is having an event on 10/26 (autocross) and 10/27 speedtrial. this weekend. Hope to be there with the yellow SE-R racer. Going for FTD (fastest time of the day) overall rain or shine. Chances are much better in the wet.
