This is from their website:

I thought I saw the car pictured on the site in a post recently so you may be in luck.

My car is the one in the picture, I have the prototype kit installed on my car. I have been in close contact with Tein about the release and they said they are still waiting on the kits from Japan. They might arrive on their next container which is supposed to arrive in the 2nd week of October. I will have a couple sets in stock as soon as they arrive at very good prices.

Any questions just email - vtecths@cox.net

First, thanks for the input. I was aware that someone on the forum was working with Tein on a prototype kit but couldn't recall who.

AZ_TURBOSE am I to assume you are a reseller for Tein? If so are distributing thru your own company or as an individual? If your price is reasonable I would be very interested in this kit when you get your stock. If possible please keep me informed.

Thanks

The sales will be through Apex Motorsports of Tempe. I work for them. We have a good discount on Tein products and have been selling their products since last October when they first came to the USA. I will keep you updated on the price for the kits.

I would have no problem offering them at a group rate. I will contact Tein again Monday and hopefully at least get some pricing information so I can start the buy.

Wow that's great. Tein is big time quality. I like the idea of buying the dampers, and springs in the same set.

I'm down for a group buy discount on these coilovers. Hey AZ_TURBOSE, I got a question for you about these coilovers. Do these coilovers have shortened strut bodies? If so, are they shortened in both the front and the rear? And how is the ride with these coilovers and your 17's? How low do you normally ride around with these coilovers? Sorry, for all these questions. I'm just trying to get an idea of how this suspension works on our cars. TIA

They are a shortened strut with a larger shaft. They initially had them adjusted like the picture on the website where it was about 2" drop all the way around. However I lowered the front a bit more. I would say the car is lowered about 2.5" in the front and about 2" in the rear. I have them set at mid-damping level all the way around. They are 16 way adjustable and I have them set at 8. The ride is a dream. I had the AGX/GC combo before and the car would seem to bounce a bit, now the car is so smooth. I have a lot more confidence in the cars handling too. The 17"'s ride very smooth too. Everybody who has rode in the car has just loved it. I will try to take some pictures of the setup tomorrow (Monday). They also have upper pillow mounts available. The fronts have camber adjustment and the rears dont. The camber plates for the fronts are like $150 and only work with the Tein coilovers.

What exactly do the camber plate in the rear do? WHen do you think they'll be available? And do you have any idea about how much they'll cost? TIA

The rears have no camber adjustmengt. It is just a pillow mount.

I would like to know the front and rear spring rates. Do you know what they are in inch-pounds?

Will my Stillen camber plates work with the Tein fronts? I would think there shouldn't be a problem.

I spoke with Tein today. They are releasing they coil-overs in December. This gives everyone ample amount of time to come up with the money. There was no pricing yet. He told me to call and ask for an update on the pricing in a month. Until then, I would like for everyone interested to send me an email with their name and email address so I can put together a spreadsheet. Once more information is available for pricing we can start taking deposits.

Thanks,

What are the details of the struts?
Adjustable rebound only? Compression/Rebound linear, or C/R separately.
Pressurized or not?

I'm interested in these also. I take it you do not have the pillow mounts? how is your alignment w/2.5in drop in the front. that is about what I would set mine too, and I want to know if the pillow mounts are necessary.
thanks

They did an alignment on my car before i picked it up. So far I have no abnormal tire wear... (except for the burnouts:cool: )! I am getting the pillow mounts just to have. They also incease travel in the suspension. They are not that expensive either so its a good investment.
