What is the proper size to be running on 17's? My new red SER came with 17 inch White Racing Hart's and 215-40's on it. It that good? It loooks realy good and hope to have pics next week.
Also, any tips on caring for these rims? I would hate to spray on some wheel cleaner that would take off the paint.

You really can't get the 'proper' size 17" tire. 17s end up being a little higher than a stock size tire. (ie larger rolling diameter) I am also running 215/40R17 , I like them better than 205-40s because you have a little more sidewall, helps not bend rims so easy. I have gunmetal Nippon Taikos and I don't use any kind of wheel cleaner. I use the same car wash I use on the rest of the car. I do use a seperate bucket so I don't get brake dust particles on the paint.

I don't use 17's but I would reccomend using 215/45/17's. They would be a little taller but not as bumpy. Funny that I have a set of 18's with 215/35/18's on them talking about something being bumpy.;)
