I can't seem to decided what size rims I should get. Should I get 15's, 16's, 17', or maybe even 18's. What do you guys think I should get?

Get some 26's, that'll look "hella" gay.

I figure since you have been on this board since february you would know already. 15's. I got 16s and they are tooooo harsh.

Yeah, but I got a b14, plus I'm getting a shortened struts, as well as a turbo. So I figure that I can afford to rock any wheel I want, because I wanted be limited by suspension travel or lack of power. I want to find a balance between performance and looks. I just can't make my mind up. I'm leaning towards some lightweight 17's or 18's, but I wanted to hear what other people had to say.

I second the 15's. You want to maintain close to stock overall diameter to keep your speedo correct and going with anything bigger isn't going to allow you much tire to put on the rim and maintain a stock diameter. 16's is the largest I'd go but you're not going to enjoy the ride. If you go over stock diameter, although you might gain some handling benefits, you're going to loose engine performance trying to crank against those big fuckers. I think 16's would look the best, but I'm planning to go with 15's because I don't want a nasty ride after spending a lot on suspension just to undo it with too low of profile tires.

I am rolling on some 17's, the cool thing about them they only weight like 16lbs a piece. can't go wrong with light weight. But to each his own.

The rims I'm considering are some 12.5lb 17's, some 16lb 17's, or some 18lb 18's.

I still say some nice 15's but since you got a B14, I would do a nice set of 16's NOOOO BIGGER. I just dont think there is any reason to go larger on our COMPACT cars. However, I am not a bling blinger. I just bought my car off of one.

Just do like me. I have a set of Black BBS 14's for the track, and I also have a set of 18 inch KMC Suicides. The 18's weigh 18 lbs like you said.

Rock whatever makes you happy. After all, it is your ride and you have to look at and drive it every day. My opinion is 16's are the best balance between looks, performance, and ride quality. It doesn't ride harsh to me at all, plus you can feel the difference in cornering with the shorter sidewall on the tire. Not to mention if you ever want to do some racing, you can actually find 16" race tires and smaller, but I haven't seen any in 17". I also have a set of 17's and can add that you will feel EVERYHTING. If you run over a nickel in the road, you'll know it. Great for looks on a lowered car (the reason I think I still have them), but you sacrifice a bit of ride quality for it. 18's will slow the car down noticeably, no matter how light the rim is (unless you get some TE-37's). Hope this helps.

Are you more into Preformance or Cosmetic? If you are going for preformance, 15 or maybe 16 inch light weight wheels and good tires with solid side wall will be your best pick. Ricers like me or whoever could afford more than a set of wheels should go with 17s. 17s will look good on B14s, but they are usually too heavy and slowes your car down quite a bit.

my 17's weigh 1-2 pounds more than the stock b14 rims. 17's look BIG on my 95 se-r, no need for bling bling chrome 18 or 19's.

Before you decide on wheels you want to take a look at what tires come in the sizes you are interested in. 15's have a great 205/50 and lots of choices, 16's have the 205/45 which is not going to be any wider and not as many choices, with 17's you can get a 215/40 and a decent amount of choices. Take a look at the price of these tires and see if you are willing to spend that money every year or so. Personally I would want to get a wider 215 on my car with a turbo. You could also get a 225/50/15 on your car with some minor rubbing from what I hear. I would try and get as much tire on the ground as posible with your budget. If you are thinking of going cheap with the 17's and not buying good tires you might as well save your money and buy some 15's and put the better tires on every year (SO3's, BFG KD's) you know the good stuff. SO3's are just over 100 a piece in 205/50/15. That is a relative bargin considering what a good tire it is.

I say some 15's unless you getting brake upgrade then go with some light 16's

My 96 I just bought came with some sweet ass 17's.

1. Ride is rough (I am lowered with stock shocks though)
2. Look SWEEEEEEET.
3. Handle awesome.

Sorry if this is taking away from the subject, but it might help in deciding. Does anyone know what offset if any is going to be needed for 15X7 rims on a B14 for the brake and suspension upgrades? Maybe 35-40 mm? I am hoping to upgrade my suspension/rims/brakes by the end of this winter and have been comtemplating this very question.

I vote for some light-weight 15X7 rims! 16X7 at the very most...
