Yeah... I posted. I can't belive that guy called us cheap. Oh well, maybe he just likes people throwing their money away. I hope everyone here will take the time to read the thread. It has to do with the future of SERCA... and if it's going to be shut down or changed.

exactly. If it's a National organization, why does the meet ALWAYS have to be in Cali??? Why can't it at least be in Denver or something?

Looks like the thread is dead... and so is the club probably. The thread has made it onto the second page and there doesn't seem to be interest in saving the club from more than a handfull of people. Oh well.

Isn't interesting that no one has gotten an answer of how many people are in the club? Is that because they don't know or because the number is so small? I wonder...

a member should ask when We can get the Consult machine over here to use, how long are we premitted to use it or who's house this machine is at? someone has got a pretty good amount of money in their pocket i am sure.

Yeah I wondered about that as well... what good does a Consult do for people outside of SoCal? Where did/does all the money go? Free track days in SoCal? An offical SERCA sponsored racecar <wink wink>? I don't know, maybe it's not that bad... but there's nothing on their webpage breaking down the actual dollar amounts raised and where they've been used.

sounds to me like they were collecting money from all over the country for them to use primarily in socal...........and a consult, if it were a consult II would be very handy to OBDII cars if we could use it to tune correctly.

but the consult can't even rewrite anything on the ecu if i am not mistaken it jsut reads live data correct and can read codes

the consult II can.......on for example my B15........I could use one to adjust my fuel maps, variable timing info, manage NVTC, etc.

You guys are blowing hot air...because you're ignorant of the facts.

First, SERCA does NOT own a Consult. Mike Kojima owns a Consult. He will hook it up to anyone's car who asks. For free. What a guy! To my knowlege he DOESN'T own a Consult II.

Second, SERCA is not a SoCal club; SoCal is the busiest chapter but not the only one.

Third, SoCal does not use ALL dues money, only their portion. Considering SoCal comprises about 60% of membership, that's big bucks.

Fourth, there were 206 members as of February, 2002. I have an up-to-date list at home, but membership is not appreciably larger.

Please read my contribution to the main thread concerning SERCA.

If we're ignorant of the facts it's because we're limited to what is posted by SERCA leaders and what is available to the general public through the website. Larry (Founder of SERCA) implyed that SERCA purchased a Consult with national dues... no one refuted this when I asked if this was the case in the main thread. Several other Florida owners here read the same thing and came to the same conclusion independently that he was implying that SERCA bought a Consult for it's members. You're saying it was just a misunderstanding and that SERCA didn't spend money on a Consult... ok. But does the orginization own any property at the National level? (This is one of the reasons the founder of SERCA listed for national dues) If there is club owned property, why isn't it listed on the website? Why isn't this disclosed to the potential members?

Florida owners have been called cheap for not joining SERCA, and your exact words seemed to echo the comments "Florida has been a thorn since the we began the work to create the club. Despite three people trying to jump-start a region down there, the locals cried because they would have to pay money."

Because of these comments, and because I'm one of the "locals who cried" about dues, I would like to again offer you the chance to explain why Florida owners should join SERCA. If you just want to answer that in the main thread... that's fine I guess.

Thank you for posting this information... it's good to see that SERCA isn't hiding it. I'm still not sure why this isn't more available though. I would think SERCA would want to be honest with prospective members and post this information.

thats 124 members are in socal and 82 non socal members. Hell even your Florida recruiter isn't a member. Hey Yosho maybe he was just some whino that saw SERCA on the net and wanted to give us candy to get in his car..:D
