i personally have a few rules about hood scoops

1. scoops are fine when you need them

2. if you must put a hood scoop on a car that doesnt need one, put it on a honda, it seems to be an accepted practice with them.

a little too ricey in my opinion, but if thats what your into go for it dude

Well, from the look of that picture, it seems like when it rains, all that water will go on top of your engine...is that what you want?

Again, read what cantdoadonut said, buy one if you really need one, like if you have a top mount IC, otherwise, save your money.

you can put all the hood scoops on it that you want, but its still not gonna be a supra

well i just wann cool the engine, plus the water doesnt get to it because my bros vents doesnt harm his car at all. but you guys are right it aint gonna look good sorry for the dumb questions i just like to see what other people think.

Yeah, my Impreza "vents" (not the scoop) keep the engine bay really cool. After a hard run, even my hood is lukewarm to the touch. (The front half of the hood stays cool)

Ive driven my car in *tons* of rain (its my daily driver) and even all this Isadora crap. Ive noticed that when rain hits the vents, it "spatters" and only a minute amount of an actual raindrop makes it through.

Anyway, if the stock late 90s Imprezas and Outbacks can have non-functional vents, why cant we if its used to cool?

With people around here upgrading radiators, caps, and adding water wetter, its obvious overheating is a concern.

From the picture on the honda they don't look like they're functional. They don't look like they have cut-outs going through the hood. As someone also pointed out, if you used cutouts that large your engine would get wet when it rained. I guess the real question is are you so concerned enough about heat inside your engine bay that you need to vent it. The reason the Supra has it is functional. The reason you seem to want it is style... which is fine I guess if you can pull it off and you're willing to live with the downsides. Putting those vents on anything short of a highly modified street car would look a little silly to me... but that's just me.

first of all the aluminum wing was a joke. second have you seen some of the 200sx cars around they are as bad as hondas. and i went to japan this summer and ive seen alot of trends there thats not here and somethings you would prob think are "ricey". and for those people who think im retarded for putting a hood scoop on there thats kinda dumb, just think of all the useless ricey parts they make for 200sx projector lights and predator hood. well my sentra isnt gonna look like everyone and their mommas.
